On the afternoon of October 11, 2025, the "China Cup" 2025 Capital University International Students Campus Orienteering Competition hosted by the Beijing Society of Higher Education Foreign Students Work Research Branch was held at China University of Geosciences (Beijing).
A total of 26 international student teams from 17 universities in Beijing participated in this competition, and the international student team of Capital Institute of Physical Education won the third prize of this competition with excellent teamwork and stable on-the-spot performance. The school team consisted of five exchange students from Russia: Koniakhina Viktoriia, Kostruba Tatiana, Gigeleva Nataliia, Snigireva Daria, Vetchaninova Anastasiia, and Liu Zhichao, an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Leisure and Social Sports.
After the opening ceremony, the teams set off in turn. In the orienteering session, the team members responded calmly, quickly planned the optimal route, accurately located the check-in point, and made every effort to win points. In a number of teamwork projects such as skipping rope relay, you guess me, fun quizzes, badminton relay, etc., the team members continued to be in good shape, cooperated tacitly, performed well, and fully demonstrated their excellent comprehensive quality and high-spirited spirit. Our international student team won the third prize in this competition, setting the best result in the history of the school.
Through orienteering, the multinational team composed of Chinese and Russian students not only achieved a breakthrough in sports skills, but also deepened their understanding of sportsmanship through cross-cultural cooperation. The team members said that the trophy embodies the wisdom and sweat of each member, and this competition experience of watering honor with sweat and crossing languages with cooperation will become the most shining chapter in their study abroad memory.
In the future, the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation (School of International Education) will continue to build a diversified exchange and competition platform for international students, use sports as a link, promote learning and make friends through competition, continue to promote the all-round growth of international students, help cultivate more high-quality international sports talents who know China, love China, and love the school, and contribute to the construction of a world-class sports university.
