Beijing Union University International Students Participate in Cultural Practice at Jinshanling Great Wall

To enrich the learning and practical experiences of international students in China, and help them better understand China and deeply experience Chinese culture, the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and the School of Tourism at Beijing Union University recently organized international students to carry out a cultural practice activity at Jinshanling Great Wall.

On the morning of the activity, the international students got ready early, their faces full of excitement and anticipation. Carrying the longing for China's ancient civilization, they set off on this exploration journey. After arriving at Jinshanling Great Wall, the activity officially kicked off. The guide gave the international students a meticulous explanation of the Great Wall's historical background.

From the origin of the Great Wall to its repair and expansion over multiple dynasties, every stage carries profound historical memories. The international students also learned about the unique architectural features of the Great Wall—those ingenious designs and sturdy structures all demonstrate the outstanding wisdom of the ancient Chinese people. The story of General Qi Jiguang's garrison of the Ming Great Wall made the Great Wall no longer a cold building in the eyes of the international students, but a cultural symbol full of vivid vitality and legendary colors.

The international students all expressed heartfelt admiration for the grandeur of the Great Wall, deeply understanding the spiritual core of the Chinese nation—perseverance and unremitting self-improvement. Then, everyone climbed up the steps of the Great Wall, personally experiencing the steepness and magnificence of this great building. Every step of the climb seemed like a conversation with history; every step carried the traces of time. The students climbed hard while enjoying the surrounding scenery to their heart's content. The rolling mountains in the distance complemented the winding Great Wall, forming a picturesque scene. When they reached the highest General Tower, their eyes suddenly opened up. They overlooked the magnificent scenery below the mountain, used cameras to record this unforgettable moment, and wanted to cherish this beauty forever. It seemed as if they could feel the glory and profoundness of China's ancient civilization blooming on this land.

Finally, all teachers and students took a precious group photo on the Great Wall, freezing this warm moment of cross-cultural exchange and witnessing the deep friendship between China and foreign countries. This activity not only enriched the extracurricular life of international students and allowed them to deeply understand Chinese culture through practice, but also built a solid bridge for cultural exchange between China and foreign countries, laying a solid and stable foundation for cultivating international talents who know and are friendly to China.
