International Students of Beijing Technology and Business University Participate in Central Axis Cultural Experience Activity

On December 5, international students from Beijing Technology and Business University participated in a fan meeting and Central Axis cultural experience event hosted by the "Beijing Foreign Affairs, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan" WeChat official account. A total of 36 international students from countries including the Philippines, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan at our university joined this event. Centered on the culture of Beijing's Central Axis, the event allowed international students to deeply experience the charm of China's excellent traditional culture and enhance their understanding of Beijing's urban history and cultural heritage through immersive experiences and interactive exchanges.

At the beginning of the event, everyone enjoyed a special art exhibition themed "City Memory". The exhibition presented Beijing's historical changes and urban style from an artistic perspective, creating a strong atmosphere for the subsequent Central Axis cultural experience. Centered on the theme "One Central Axis Connects Ancient and Modern Times", the event systematically explained the historical evolution, architectural pattern, and important position in urban planning of the Central Axis. The content covered various aspects such as hutong life around the Bell and Drum Towers, the commercial tradition of Qianmen Street, and the agricultural culture of "respecting heaven and valuing life" at the Temple of Agriculture. Later, the host of "Beijing Foreign Affairs, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan" introduced the efforts made by the official account in promoting international communication and serving foreigners in Beijing, and encouraged more Chinese and foreign youth to pay attention to Beijing's development and participate in urban dialogue.

To further enhance the cultural experience, the event also arranged an interactive session of "Hand-painting Ancient Buildings", where international students tried to depict the iconic buildings of the Central Axis with brushes on site. Through hands-on painting, they more intuitively felt the structural beauty and cultural symbolic meaning of Chinese ancient architecture. Combining cultural explanations, art appreciation, and hands-on practice, this event provided international students with an opportunity to get close to China's traditional culture and understand Beijing's history, promoting cultural exchanges and emotional connections between Chinese and foreign students.
