Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and NYU Shanghai jointly organized a joint study of Chinese practice for international students

On the afternoon of October 24, the Chinese Program of the School of International Cultural Exchange of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and the Chinese Department of the College of Arts and Sciences of NYU Shanghai jointly organized a unique Chinese practice joint learning event for international students. More than 30 international students from the two universities gathered at the Wudong Road Campus of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and the National University Science and Technology Park to carry out this practical learning that integrates campus visits, cultural interaction and scientific and technological experience under the guidance of Chinese and foreign graduate students majoring in international Chinese education.

Campus visit and immerse yourself in the culture of Chinese universities At the beginning of the activity, Chinese and foreign students from the two universities carried out a group icebreaker activity in front of the reconstruction of the old school of the "National Shanghai Business School", and then formed a team to stroll through the Wudong Road campus. The graduate students of our school introduced the historical evolution, architectural layout and academic resources of the school in detail in Chinese, so that international students from the two universities could exercise their Chinese communication skills in a real context and immerse themselves in the learning and living atmosphere of Chinese universities. During the stroll at SUFE, the strangeness between Chinese and foreign students from the two universities quickly dissolved, and the atmosphere of communication was warm and harmonious. Everyone walked side by side and had a relaxed and in-depth conversation on topics such as school history, majors, and culture. Students use Chinese as the main communication language, occasionally supplemented by English or body language, to improve their Chinese application skills in natural interactions. This visit not only deepened mutual understanding, but also built a bridge of friendship for students from the two universities. This activity not only achieved the practical teaching goals, but also further promoted friendly interaction and cross-cultural understanding between the two schools.

Technology experience, close touch of the intelligent future Subsequently, Chinese and foreign students from the two universities went to the National University Science and Technology Park of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics to visit ULS ROBOTICS, a world-renowned universal exoskeleton robot technology company. The company is a trend-leading exoskeleton consumer brand with technology, and is committed to the research and development, manufacturing and supporting solutions of general-purpose exoskeleton robots.

In the enterprise exhibition hall, the staff introduced a variety of exoskeleton robots and their application scenarios developed by the company to Chinese and foreign students. The students showed strong interest in the cutting-edge products of Aoshark Intelligence, and under the guidance of the staff, they tried on the waist exoskeleton robot and experienced the lightweight walking aid equipment. A student from NYU Shanghai said excitedly after wearing an exoskeleton to complete a set of moving exercises: "These technology products have given me an intuitive understanding of 'human-machine collaboration'!" I feel that technology is like being around to help, especially futuristic. The interactive atmosphere was warm, and the students actively participated in the trial, taking the initiative to communicate with the staff around the sensing mechanism, power transmission and ergonomic design of the exoskeleton. From "how does it perceive people's intentions" to "what is the maximum load-bearing", each question involves both technical principles and life applications.

During the Q&A, the international students not only expanded their cognition of robotics technology, but also exercised their Chinese listening comprehension and expression skills in a real context, truly realizing "learning language in science and technology exploration and understanding technology in language application". This Chinese practice joint learning activity is an innovative cooperation between the two universities in the field of international Chinese language education. The event not only enriched the extracurricular practice of international students in China, broadened the scenarios and paths of Chinese learning, but also built a broader inter-school exchange platform for teachers and students of the two universities, further promoting understanding and friendship between Chinese and foreign youth.

In the future, our college will continue to explore new models, new scenarios and new paths of international Chinese education in the context of the digital intelligence era, and promote the integration of international Chinese education and China's industrial economic development.
