International freshmen of Capital Medical University participated in mental health seminar training

In order to improve the level of mental health services for international students, on September 27, 2025, the "International Student Mental Health Seminar and Training Conference" hosted by Beijing Anding Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University was successfully held at the Beijing Garden Hotel. More than 20 international freshmen and teacher representatives of our school participated in the whole process and discussed with experts and scholars in the field, and gained fruitful results.

With the theme of "Focusing on the Mental Health Needs of International Students and Exploring Professional Service Paths", this conference aims to build a cross-disciplinary and high-level professional exchange platform. At the opening ceremony, Wang Jing, Vice President of Beijing Anding Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, delivered a speech, emphasizing the importance and urgency of building an international mental health support system.

1. Theme sharing In the theme sharing session, a number of senior experts brought cutting-edge theories and practical experience. Professor Zhou Fuchun and psychotherapist Cui Jie from Beijing Anding Hospital, Professor Lu Xiaohua from the Psychological Center of Beijing Jiaotong University, and Dr. Lusha Liu, co-founder of the Center for Intercultural Student Emotional Health at Harvard Medical School, shared in-depth information on topics such as mental health programs for international students, cross-cultural psychological adaptation, practical mental health skills for college students, and cross-cultural mental health models. These contents are closely integrated with reality, providing inspiration for freshmen who have just entered the school to better adapt to the study and life in a foreign country, and also providing valuable theoretical guidance and practical reference for our teachers to carry out relevant work.

2. Interactive Seminar The atmosphere of the interactive seminar session was warm, and the teachers and students of our college actively asked questions and actively communicated based on the real cases and learning confusions encountered in their work. The collision of ideas not only solved specific problems, but also clarified the optimization direction of future work, and many students said that "they have benefited a lot, but the meaning is still unfinished". At the closing ceremony, the participating experts summarized the results of the meeting and put forward specific suggestions on promoting the normalization and professional development of mental health services for international students. This seminar and training was a valuable learning experience, which not only deepened my professional understanding of mental health, especially cross-cultural psychological work, learned practical stress adjustment and problem identification methods, but also established valuable contacts with top experts and peers at home and abroad. The successful holding of the conference has injected new impetus into the normal, professional and refined development of our university's mental health services for international students, and is of great significance to helping international students grow up healthily in China and achieve the goal of cultivating high-quality talents.
