Delegations from Multiple Russian Universities Visit Tsinghua University

Tsinghua News Network, November 13 — Recently, delegations from Bauman Moscow State Technical University, St. Petersburg State University of Economics, and Lomonosov Moscow State University visited Tsinghua University successively. Guo Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University, and Jiang Peixue, Vice Chairman of the University Council, met with the guests respectively.

On October 24, Jiang Peixue met with Drogovoz Pavel, Vice Rector of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and his delegation. The two sides signed a university-level research cooperation agreement. Jiang Peixue stated that the cooperation between the two sides in fields such as aerospace, mechanical engineering, and energy and power has achieved fruitful results, and expressed hope to continue deepening the cooperation in the future. Drogovoz Pavel expressed his expectation to promote the sharing of scientific research achievements and the exchange of young talents between the two sides.

On November 6, Guo Yong met with Maksimtsev I. A., Rector of St. Petersburg State University of Economics, and his delegation. Guo Yong stated that the two sides have a solid foundation of cooperation in fields such as energy and economy, and expressed hope to further strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation. Maksimtsev expressed his hope to deepen the cooperation between the two sides in the field of continuing education.

On November 8, Jiang Peixue met with Iurii Mazei, Vice Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and his delegation. Jiang Peixue stated that he looks forward to deepening practical cooperation between the two sides in fields such as biomedicine, aerospace, and marine research. Iurii Mazei expressed his hope to promote the establishment of a joint seed fund and the joint construction of a joint scientific research institution between the two sides, and to continuously expand the cooperation fields. Relevant unit leaders from the university participated in the relevant activities.

Tsinghua University (Tsinghua University)

Also known as "Tsinghua", it is located in Tsinghua Garden, Haidian District, Beijing. It is jointly built by the Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipality as a key institution, a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, a university directly managed by the Central Government, one of the first batch of national key construction universities under the "Double First-Class" Initiative (Category A), "Project 985", and "Project 211", a member of the C9 League and the Asian University Alliance, and is known as the "Cradle of Red Engineers".

The predecessor of Tsinghua University was Tsinghua College, founded in 1911. In 1912, it was renamed Tsinghua School. In 1928, it was renamed National Tsinghua University. After the full outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1937, it moved south to Changsha and formed the National Changsha Temporary University together with Peking University and Nankai University. In 1938, it moved to Kunming and was renamed National Southwest Associated University. The university has successively restored or established science, liberal arts, medicine, and economic management disciplines, and established a graduate school and a school of continuing education. After the national college and department adjustment in 1952, it became a multi-disciplinary industrial university. In 1984, the university established a graduate school and the School of Economics and Management. In 1999, the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts was merged into Tsinghua University to form the Academy of Arts & Design. In 2012, the Graduate School of the People's Bank of China was merged into Tsinghua University to become the PBC School of Finance (Tsinghua University). In 2018, the university established the Shenzhen International Graduate School. In 2014, Tsinghua University established the Yenching Academy; in 2022, the university established the Weixin College and the Tsinghua University National Institute of Outstanding Engineers.
