International students from Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China walked into the tourist area of Lao Tzu's hometown

On the afternoon of November 7, 2025, the Qihuang Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Experience Group of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine students from Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine walked into the Taiqing Palace Scenic Area of Lao Tzu's hometown tourist area to immerse themselves in the profound heritage of Lao Tzu's culture and start a civilization dialogue spanning thousands of years.

International students from many countries explored the birthplace of Taoist culture with reverence and felt the integration and symbiosis of excellent traditional Chinese culture and the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine. As the birthplace of Lao Tzu, Taiqing Palace is a cultural holy place for Chinese people around the world to seek their roots and understand Taoist thought. Under the guidance of the docent, the international students visited historical sites such as the Taiji Hall, the Sanqing Hall, and the Praise Monument of the Empress Dowager Xiantian, and listened carefully to Lao Tzu's philosophical concepts of "Taoism and Nature" and "the unity of nature and man", as well as the outlook on life and health preservation contained in the Tao Te Ching. The deep integration of Taoist thought and traditional Chinese medicine theory has made international students understand their theoretical knowledge more clearly and profoundly, and also laid a more solid theoretical foundation for future practice.

During the short exchange, we learned that this trip to Taiqing Palace is an important part of the "Sensing China" series of activities of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The school has always been committed to combining cultural experience and practical teaching, so that international students can feel the breadth and depth of traditional Chinese medicine culture through personal experience, and build a bridge for exchanges between Chinese and foreign civilizations. For this reason, the relevant person in charge of the scenic spot said: "Lao Tzu culture is an important root of China's excellent traditional culture, and traditional Chinese medicine is one of its treasures. We very much hope that through such exchange activities and methods, more international students and overseas students are welcome to come to the Taiqing Palace Scenic Area in Lao Tzu's hometown to exchange and study. We will be committed to contributing to the tourism industry of Henan Province and even China; Actively be a disseminator of traditional Chinese medicine culture and a promoter of Chinese and foreign health causes.

The drizzle was still falling, the sky was getting darker, and the international students took a group photo in front of the Taiji Hall, and the ancient palace walls and the smiling faces of youth were reflected. This cultural trip not only allowed the international students to immerse themselves in the charm of Lao Tzu culture, but also deepened their understanding of the core concept of "people-oriented, unity of nature and man" in traditional Chinese medicine, leaving a deep and warm Chinese memory for their study abroad career.
