Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, formerly known as Sichuan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was founded in 1936, renamed Chengdu School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1954, and established Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1956 on the site of Chengdu School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 1978, the school became the first batch of doctoral and master's degree authorization points in traditional Chinese medicine in China. In 1985, the school was identified as a provincial key university by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, and in 1995 it was renamed "Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine". From June 2013 to June 2014, the school was selected for the Sichuan 2011 Plan twice; In August 2021, the school was selected into the list of the first batch of intangible cultural heritage protection and inheritance bases in Sichuan Province.
