Chengdu University of Technology held a briefing session on admission education for international students in 2025

On September 17, the 2025 international student freshman entrance education briefing meeting of Chengdu University of Technology and the "first lesson of school" were successfully held at 6A210 and 6A302 of Chengdu Campus, explaining in detail the "first lesson of school" for international students who arrived at the school for the first time. Tian Xingjie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the School of International Education (Oxford Brooks College), all teachers of the International Student Department, and international students of the class of 2025 attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Wang Jie and Hu Linhong, who were international students.

At the beginning of the briefing session, Tian Xingjie, deputy secretary of the party committee and secretary of the discipline inspection commission of the college, first delivered a welcome speech, he extended a warm welcome to all the freshmen who came from afar, saying that our school has always been committed to providing high-quality educational resources and all-round support services for international students, and encouraged the freshmen to adapt to the new environment as soon as possible, actively integrate into campus life, deeply perceive Chinese culture, and become friendly messengers of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. Several suggestions were put forward for the freshmen of the class of 2025: first, strictly abide by Chinese laws and regulations and school-level school rules, respect cultural differences, and be positive young students and global citizens; second, actively participate in campus activities, learn from each other, and be a youth messenger of cross-cultural exchanges; The third is to understand China, perceive China, and be a bridge connecting China and the world.

1. Policies and regulations are publicized to build a solid bottom line of safety

At the entrance education briefing, the teachers of the International Student Department systematically preached a series of key contents such as entry-exit and foreign-related laws and regulations, religious management policies, campus safety instructions, dormitory management regulations, and disciplinary punishment regulations. This part of the lecture aims to help freshmen understand the laws, regulations and codes of conduct that must be followed when studying and living in China, and draw a clear red line of safety and discipline for them. 2. Focus on practical issues and provide admission guidance Subsequently, the teachers provided focused and detailed answers to practical questions such as visa extension, medical insurance, course electives and graduation requirements that international students are generally concerned about, and provided specific operational guidance. By sorting out the clear handling process and clear contact channels, the activity effectively eliminated many doubts and confusion of the freshmen, and provided a practical guarantee for them to start their studies smoothly and adapt to the new environment as soon as possible.

The conference has achieved remarkable results and laid the foundation for integration into development. The meeting not only conveyed key information, but also reflected the school's high level of care and professional management services for international students. It not only provides timely and authoritative admission guidance for the 2025 international freshmen, effectively alleviates their anxiety and uncertainty when they first arrive, but also more effectively promotes their cross-cultural adaptation process, and lays a solid ideological foundation and action guide for freshmen to integrate into the campus environment as soon as possible and focus on academic development.

2. Consolidate the management foundation and escort international freshmen

The successful holding of the 2025 International Student Entrance Education Briefing has three far-reaching significance: laying the foundation, empowering and standardizing. First, for individual students, it has the foundational significance of "smooth transition". Through systematic policy interpretation and personalized practical guidance, the meeting effectively reduced the cross-cultural adaptation barriers and information uncertainty faced by freshmen, and provided key support for their psychological transformation and life transition from "new arrival" to "learning with peace of mind". Second, for school management, it has the empowering significance of "improving quality and efficiency". The activity combines pre-rule publicity with centralized Q&A, which not only reflects the professionalism and forward-looking nature of management services, but also prevents management problems that may be caused by information asymmetry from the source, and improves the management efficiency of international student affairs. Third, in terms of campus ecology, it has the normative significance of "order and co-construction". By clearly conveying the bottom line of the law, the red line of school rules and the safety defense line, this event has laid a solid foundation for building a safe, orderly and harmonious international campus environment from the beginning, and safeguarded the common interests of all members.
