From September 30 to October 1, 2025, in the golden autumn, 29 international students from more than a dozen countries including Russia, Thailand, Jordan, and Burkina Faso from Beijing University of International Business and Economics went to the Manchu Township of Horn Goumen in Huairou District, Beijing to carry out a practical education activity on national conditions.
As an important part of the college's national education system, this activity created a vivid and profound "walking classroom" for international students through a combination of field visits, cultural experience and ecological investigation. On the first day of the event, teachers and students first visited the Horn Goumen Manchu Township Museum. Before the exhibition full of national characteristics, the international students had an in-depth understanding of the local historical evolution, folk customs and cultural inheritance, from costumes, festivals to daily life, perceiving the richness and uniqueness of China's ethnic minority culture in multiple dimensions, and deepening their understanding of the pluralistic and integrated pattern of the Chinese nation.
In the afternoon of the same day, the teacher and student delegation was invited to participate in the opening ceremony of the 2025 Horn Goumen Golden Autumn Red Leaf Festival. The international students enjoyed the characteristic theatrical performances with folk customs. Four international students from our school presented a carefully rehearsed Chinese-style dance "Acacia Yao", which conveyed the emotional resonance across borders with beautiful dance postures and won bursts of applause from the scene.
In the important part of the opening ceremony, Geng Huifang, Secretary of the International College, on behalf of the college, and local leaders jointly unveiled the "National Conditions Practice Education Base for International Students in China of the University of International Business and Economics", marking the establishment of a normalized cooperation mechanism in collaborative education and practical teaching. Subsequently, the students walked into Zhongyushudian Village, a model of the new socialist countryside. Through on-site visits and explanations, everyone had an in-depth understanding of how the village developed step by step from a poor village in the past to a beautiful village with prosperous industry and ecological livability today, and truly felt the vivid practice and remarkable results of China's rural revitalization strategy. That night, teachers and students were also immersed in the starry sky concert held by the organizers, and under the quiet valley and bright starry sky, Chinese and foreign youth shared the beauty of music and friendship.
On October 1, the event came to an end in the autumn appreciation of the Horn Goumen Primitive Forest Park. The international students shuttled through the birch forest, experienced the achievements of China's ecological protection, and completed this meaningful ecological and cultural investigation trip in the picturesque autumn colors.
This practical education activity is a key part of the International College's continuous promotion of the brand building of "Study Abroad and Trade University" and the construction of a practical teaching system in a tiered manner. By extending the classroom to the rural fields, the college is committed to helping international students in China understand a three-dimensional and comprehensive China in real scenarios, and understand the profound heritage of Chinese culture and the pulse of contemporary China's development.
