The construction of the Xiong'an campus of four universities in Beijing is being accelerated

On October 15, the first group project of the Xiong'an Campus of the University of Science and Technology Beijing - four student dormitory buildings were capped, and the construction of Beijing to Xiong'an relief universities has made new progress. Beijing Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing Forestry University and China University of Geosciences (Beijing) are the first four Beijing universities to be evacuated to Xiong'an New Area. These four universities are all located in the north of the fifth group of the starting area of Xiong'an New Area, and the construction of the four universities has fully entered the peak period of construction, and it is expected to be put into use as a whole in 2027.

University of Science and Technology Beijing

On October 15, the main structure of the four student dormitory buildings of the first group project of Xiong'an Campus of the University of Science and Technology Beijing was successfully capped. The first group project is located in the southwest corner of Xiong'an Campus, adjacent to Yanzhao Street, the main road of Xiong'an New Area in the south, with a total construction area of 83,000 square meters, and will start construction on December 16, 2024. The project includes six buildings, including four dormitory buildings, a steel academy and a comprehensive building. The four dormitory buildings capped this time include two undergraduate dormitories and two master's dormitories, which will provide a comfortable, safe and convenient accommodation environment for more than 4,500 students after completion. The Iron and Steel Academy and the comprehensive building will also be capped one after another. The first group project of Beijing University of Science and Technology is expected to be fully capped in November and completed in September 2026.

Beijing Forestry University

The Xiong'an Campus of Beijing Forestry University covers an area of about 2,200 acres and is divided into two phases. The first phase of the project is divided into the first project, three groups and the National Forest and Grass Germplasm Facility Preservation Bank (Xiong'an) project. Among them, the first project has been completed and put into use on July 23, 2024, and the campus planning and construction team has settled in the office. The first project of Beilin University was completed and put into use On September 29, the first phase of the Xiong'an Campus of Beilin University + all buildings of the National Forest and Grass Germplasm Resource Bank of 828,800 square meters fully entered the construction stage. In the first batch of four relief universities, it took the lead in achieving 100% start of the first phase of the project. The second group of Beilin University Xiong'an Campus has a total construction area of 498,500 square meters and is positioned as a "public building group", covering libraries, gymnasiums, data centers, teaching and scientific research rooms, etc. At present, all bidding sections have been completed and the full construction is about to start. The third group consists of six special projects: municipal, energy, electricity, gas, landscape and smart campus, and will strive to have the conditions to start construction this year.

China University of Geosciences (Beijing)

The Xiong'an Campus of China University of Geosciences (Beijing) covers a total area of 1,600 acres, including 1,200 acres of construction land, with a total school scale of 20,000 people, and is built in two phases, with a total construction area of 518,900 square meters in the first phase, meeting the basic education and scientific research platform construction needs of 10,251 students. On July 18, the main structure of the comprehensive service building, the first building of the Xiong'an Campus of Di Da, was capped. The building has a construction area of 8,626 square meters and will undertake the comprehensive management and centralized guarantee functions of the safe campus and green campus of the local Daxiong'an campus, and provide logistics-related functional rooms and office space. Since September 30, the University of Beijing has launched a collection of campus buildings, squares, ecological lakes, and roads for all teachers, students, alumni and people from all walks of life on Xiong'an Campus.

Beijing Jiaotong University

The Xiong'an Campus of Beijing Jiaotong University covers an area of about 2,600 acres, with a construction area of nearly 2 million square meters, and is built in two phases, which can accommodate nearly 20,000 students after the first phase is completed and 36,000 students after the completion of the second phase. On August 11, the second group project of the first phase of the Xiong'an Campus of Beijing Jiaotong University started. In the early morning of August 24, the roof of Section 1 of the No. 1 dormitory building of the Xiong'an Campus of Beijing Jiaotong University was completed, officially breaking out of the "plus or minus zero" and entering the construction of the main structure on the ground. On August 28, Building 6 (doctoral apartment) of the student dormitory section A project of Beijing Jiaotong University Xiong'an Campus was capped with the main structure. On September 12, the "National Rail Transit Safety Assessment and Research Center" (hereinafter referred to as the "Safety Assessment Center") officially landed in Xiong'an New Area and started construction. The project is located in the southeast corner of the central area of Beijing Jiaotong University Xiong'an Campus, with a total construction area of about 55,000 square meters, and is scheduled to be completed in 2028.

According to the latest news from the National Development and Reform Commission, in addition to the first batch of four universities Xiong'an campus is accelerating construction, the Xiong'an campus of five universities, including Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, North China Electric Power University, Beijing Language and Culture University, and Communication University of China, has clarified the site selection and is preparing a master plan and construction plan.
