
On the afternoon of September 12, 2025, the opening ceremony of the 2025 international students of Communication University of China and the freshman entrance education briefing session were held at the China Communication Academic Center V01. International freshmen from all over the world gathered together to start their learning journey at Communication University of China.
Jin Xuetao, Dean of the School of International Media Education (Overseas Student Affairs Center), first delivered a speech and expressed the warmest and most sincere welcome to the 2025 international undergraduate students from 20 countries and regions, international graduate students from 28 countries and regions, and international students from 29 countries and regions on behalf of the School (Center).
Professor Wu Minsu, Associate Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, shared his experience as a student at Beijing Broadcasting Institute (the predecessor of Communication University of China) 43 years ago. She hopes that international students can observe the real China in person, become a bridge between China and foreign countries, and tell Chinese stories together. Professor Wu concluded by quoting the African proverb "If you want to go fast, go alone; If you want to go far, walk together", sending a message to new students to grow together with the school.
Professor Li Jidong, Vice Dean of the School of Information and Communication, pointed out in his speech that the students are at the historical intersection of human-machine collaboration in the contemporary era. He proposed three major missions of communicators: to disseminate true information as guardians of truth; protecting culture as an inheritor of digital heritage; Promote empathy, cooperation and sustainable development through the dissemination of civilization. Professor Li encouraged students to leverage their local experiences to build a truly connected and inclusive digital future.
Chen Zuer from Malaysia from the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures majoring in Broadcasting and Hosting Arts (Bilingual Broadcasting and Hosting) from Malaysia, MUGISHA NSHUTI CHRISTIAN from Rwanda spoke on behalf of the 2025 Master of Science in Journalism and Communication Program (Digital Communication) students, and OMULO EVANS OMONDI from Kenya spoke on behalf of the 2025 Master of International Communication program. expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Communication University of China, and shared their prospects for the future.
Officers Zhang Guowei and Wang Jiaxi from the Chaoyang Branch of the Exit and Entry Administration of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau explained the visa and residence policies to the freshmen; Zhao Peng, head of the Public Security Section and Campus Order Management Section of the School Security Department, gave campus safety tips to the freshmen; Lianhua International Insurance Brokerage (Beijing) Co., Ltd. gave a lecture on insurance policy. Mr. Yin Meng and Mr. Guo Yuexin from the Overseas Student Affairs Center gave detailed explanations on the cultural courses and activity arrangements.
The ceremony was held by Li Xinyu, a Malaysian 2023 undergraduate student majoring in broadcasting and hosting arts (bilingual broadcasting and hosting direction); Co-hosted by Malaysian 2024 undergraduate student Xiao Guoqing, majoring in broadcasting and hosting arts.
The ceremony ended successfully in the interactive session and the introduction of the Chinese and Foreign Student Exchange Association. The opening ceremony of freshmen not only helped students better understand their study and living arrangements, but also laid a solid foundation for them to integrate into campus cultural life faster.
