On November 13, the third regular meeting of international student counselors in the fall semester of 2025 of Ningbo University was successfully held in Room 312 of the School of International Exchange, Building 10, Bao Yushu Science Building. Zhou Xunying, Secretary and Dean of the School of International Exchange, Kang Kebiao, Director of the School Safety and Security Department, attended the meeting, and the relevant heads of the Dormitory Management Center, international student counselors from various colleges and relevant teachers of the College of International Relations attended. The meeting was presided over by Yang Guizhen, deputy secretary and vice president of the School of International Exchange, and focused on key tasks such as international student safety education, student status management, scholarship evaluation, and residence permit processing.
Kang Kebiao, director of the school safety and security department, first thanked the colleges for their support and cooperation in campus safety work, and put forward specific requirements for recent safety work. He emphasized that it is necessary to focus on standardizing the management of electric vehicle riding and charging, attach importance to the fire safety of teaching buildings and dormitory living areas, strengthen daily traffic safety education, and work together with functional departments to consolidate the foundation of campus safety.
Ms. Xie Weili from the dormitory management center reported on the recent accommodation management of international students, introduced in detail the current situation of bed allocation in the main dormitory areas, and explained specific matters such as dormitory adjustment, water and electricity bill settlement, and access control use. She reminded all colleges to pay attention to the validity period of student cards, and said that they would maintain close communication with each college to jointly create a safe and comfortable living environment for students.
Teacher Qiu Xiaomiao of the School of International Exchange reported on several safety cases among international students recently, and arranged for the prevention of infectious diseases in winter, dormitory order management, and traffic safety education. At the meeting, Mr. Qiu emphasized the importance of collaborative linkage and information sharing mechanisms inside and outside the school, and suggested that this be used as an important starting point to effectively build a solid management line of defense for campus health and safety. Teacher Qiu Xiaomiao also summarized the evaluation of the scholarship for self-funded international students in 2025. She introduced the evaluation results of government and university-level scholarships at all levels, and emphasized that all colleges need to work together to ensure that the scholarship policy is effectively transformed into practical results of education and improve the quality of international student training by accurately checking information and standardizing the issuance process.
Teacher Tang Jiaqi introduced the overall situation of the general mental health test for international students in the class of 2025, and made systematic arrangements for the follow-up education work, emphasizing the need to build a whole-process care mechanism centered on student development, cooperate with various colleges to promote psychological education, form a joint force for education, and provide a solid guarantee for the healthy growth and all-round development of international students.
Ms. Liu Huiting explained the information management of international students and the arrangement of language examinations for international students. She emphasized the basic role of student information dynamic maintenance in management services, and asked all colleges to continue to improve data quality and timeliness. At the same time, she reminded the upcoming HSK exam arrangements, pointing out that this work is directly related to students' academic development, and it is necessary to coordinate the whole process of information communication to ensure that relevant international students should know everything.
Teacher Gao Jing organized a special seminar on the revision of the "Ningbo University Residence Permit Work Guidelines" for International Students. This revision will aim to improve the efficiency of management services, focusing on building a multi-dimensional evaluation mechanism with academic performance as the core, aiming to promote the standardization of international student management services and improve the effectiveness of education.
Teacher Hu Yingying introduced the organizational structure, work objectives and membership composition of the new Chinese and Foreign Students Federation of Ningbo University. She pointed out that the federation will give full play to the role of a bridge between Chinese and foreign students, improve service levels, promote the common growth of Chinese and foreign students by building a multicultural integration platform, and inject new vitality into the school's international talent training and campus culture construction.
In the case review and experience sharing session, teachers Qiu Xiaomiao and Tang Jiaqi shared their practical experience in student psychological care and cross-cultural communication based on specific cases, and emphasized the working principles of combining laws and regulations, proper procedures and humanistic care.
In her concluding speech, Dean Zhou Xunying of the School of International Exchange reviewed her experience as a counselor and pointed out that this experience is a valuable life asset in her career. Ningbo University
It is referred to as "Ningda" (NBU) and is located in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province.
