The opening ceremony of the 2025 international students of Zhejiang Gongshang University was successfully held

In the golden autumn of September, the osmanthus is fragrant. On the morning of September 17, the opening ceremony of the 2025 international students of Zhejiang Gongshang University and the "First Lesson of School" were successfully held in the lecture hall on the first floor of the library. More than 200 international freshmen from nearly 30 countries around the world gathered together to officially start their study journey in Zhejiang Industry and Commerce.

As the beginning of the education for international students, this event builds an important platform for freshmen to understand the school and integrate into the campus through the sharing of teacher and student representatives and the dean's lectures. The event was presided over by Xu Zhenghan, Vice Dean of the School of International Education.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Ms. Wang Xiaohui, Director of the Teaching and Research Office of Chinese as a Foreign Language of the College of Chinese Education, spoke as a teacher representative, and combined her years of international education experience to introduce the discipline characteristics and international achievements of Zhejiang Gongshang University to the freshmen, and encouraged the students to cherish the opportunity to study in China, take the initiative to explore the frontiers of Chinese culture and academia with the attitude of "self-confidence, openness, and willingness to learn", and broaden their horizons and increase their talents in cross-cultural exchanges. At the same time, she also promises to help every international student achieve their academic goals with a professional teaching attitude and patient guidance.

Subsequently, Joshua, an old student representative from France, shared his "Zhejiang Business Story". As a "person who has been studying in school for more than a year", he used vivid cases to tell his unfamiliar discomfort from the beginning of his arrival in China, to the growth process of gradually adapting to campus life and integrating into the academic environment, and provided practical suggestions for freshmen from multiple dimensions such as course learning, language improvement to life services. He said that the school's international student community has a warm atmosphere, and he hopes that freshmen will take the initiative to participate in campus activities, communicate more with Chinese teachers and students, and gain knowledge and friendship through mutual learning and mutual learning.

The freshman representative, Dina, from Russia, expressed her vision for the future with sincere words. On behalf of all the 2025 international freshmen, she expressed her yearning for studying in China and her gratitude to Zhejiang Gongshang University for providing high-quality educational resources. She mentioned that she chose to come to China and Zhejiang Industry and Commerce, not only to learn professional knowledge, but also to gain an in-depth understanding of China's development achievements and cultural charm, and is willing to become a "folk envoy" for Sino-foreign exchanges in the future and build more bridges for cross-cultural communication.

The core part of the ceremony, "The First Lesson of the Opening of the School", was delivered by Pei Bei, Dean of the School of International Education. She first welcomed all the international students and placed high hopes on them, hoping that they could adapt to life in China as soon as possible and cultivate their independence. insist on deepening your studies, fully experience and feel the unique charm of Chinese culture and education; Take the initiative to act and become the backbone of cross-cultural exchanges. Subsequently, the dean gave a lecture on the theme of "Studying in China Rule of Law First", focusing on "how to quickly adapt to study and life in China", "the core significance of start-up education", and "laws and regulations on studying in China". She combined a large number of real cases to explain in detail the necessary laws and regulations for the freshmen to live and study in China, and strengthened the awareness of international students to abide by the law and discipline. At the same time, it deeply interprets the multiple paths of future academic development to stimulate students' learning motivation and career planning awareness. At the same time, he also said that the Institute of International Education is everyone's strongest backing, and please seek help as soon as possible when encountering difficulties.

The dean's heartwarming words made the freshmen feel at ease and encouraged. The whole ceremony was orderly and warm. The freshmen said that through this opening ceremony and the "first lesson of school", they not only had a more comprehensive understanding of the school, but also relieved the anxiety of entering the campus for the first time, and were full of confidence in the upcoming study life.

Zhejiang Gongshang University

Zhejiang Gongshang University was formerly known as Hangzhou Secondary Business School founded in 1911 and established Hangzhou Business School in 1980 with the approval of the State Council.
