Study in China, Build Dreams for the World!

Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has enrolled more than 15,000 international students

The office of Lian Jianwei, a national famous Chinese medicine doctor, the first batch of famous Chinese medicine teachers in Zhejiang Province, and doctoral supervisor of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, recently welcomed a special guest - Andreas Kalg, a 58-year-old German Chinese medicine doctor. After returning to Germany, he worked at the Jing-Fang-Institut Deutschland in Germany and founded the Praxis für Chinesische Medizin Andreas Kalg (Kangde Hall) clinic. Austria has trained more than 100 practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine and brought the "Chinese wisdom" of traditional Chinese medicine to Europe.

On the afternoon of April 12, Andreas Kalg, a 58-year-old German, knocked on the door of Lian Jianwei's studio with excitement. "Teacher, this is the first time I have returned to Hangzhou after graduation. I have come back here countless times in my dreams over the past 11 years. In a standard Mandarin, Kang Ande reported to his mentor about his practice in the field of traditional Chinese medicine since graduating from his doctorate 11 years ago: he has trained more than 100 traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in Germany and Austria over the years, and plans to practice medicine in Switzerland in the future. Knowing that you are coming, see what I have prepared? Lian Jianwei signed the book "Zhongjing Treatment and Prescriptions", which included Kang Ande's graduate thesis, and gave it to him as a greeting gift.

Kang Ande sighed: "Back then, the professor spent a lot of effort guiding me to revise my thesis. And Lian Jianwei said that Kang Ande is diligent and smart, has a good Chinese foundation, and learns faster than other international students. In 2005, 38-year-old Kang Ande went to Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to study, obtained a master's degree in pharmacy in 2009, and a doctorate in clinical fundamentals of traditional Chinese medicine in 2014. He now works at the Jing-Fang-Institut Deutschland in Germany and founded the Praxis für Chinesische Medizin Andreas Kalg clinic. He said frankly that when he first returned to Germany, the locals lacked understanding of traditional Chinese medicine and the number of people seeking medical treatment was not large. I now see more than a dozen outpatient clinics a day, and in Germany, I am a somewhat famous doctor. He said proudly.

Kang Ande believes that traditional Chinese medicine is a fusion of philosophy and medicine: "Traditional Chinese medicine is not only medicine for the human body, but also includes all aspects of traditional Chinese culture. "In 2010, he invited his mentor Lian Jianwei to give a lecture in Cologne, Germany by email and phone, and many people came to admire him." The professor lectured on "The Essentials and Strategies of the Golden Treasury", and I was the translator below, and everyone listened to it fascinatedly. Kang Ande said. At parting, Lian Jianwei took out precious books such as "Jinkui Essentials and Prescriptions" and "Handwritten Medical Case Collection" and other precious books that condensed his life's hard work to encourage Kang Ande to be upright and innovative.

Dong Minhua, dean of the School of International Education of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said that the story of Kang'an De is the epitome of the school's international achievements in the past 40 years. The school began the education of international students in China in 1985, and has enrolled more than 15,000 international students from 69 countries and regions, and has established cooperation with more than 170 educational, scientific research and medical institutions in more than 50 countries and regions such as the United States, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic and Japan. The university has 2 Confucius Institutes, 1 overseas branch, 4 overseas TCM centers, and 1 national characteristic service export base (TCM), contributing Chinese wisdom to the cause of global health.
