Recently, 20 international students from the International College of Zhejiang University of Technology visited the Hangzhou International Expo Center to tour the “Buy Global in Zhejiang, Drive Consumption with Hangzhou” exhibition, part of the “Export to China” program. They explored global products and cutting-edge technologies, gaining first-hand insights into the growing links between China’ s consumer market and global trade.
The exhibition featured two main zones—the Imported Goods Zone and the Premium Consumer Products Zone—showcasing specialty products and new consumption scenarios from companies worldwide. Students not only saw high-quality products from different countries, but also learned how new cross-border e-commerce models are making the “buy global” experience more convenient. The visit also offered students a closer look at Zhejiang’s openness-driven development and Hangzhou’s efforts to become an international consumption center, with import trade and consumption upgrading becoming increasingly integrated.
”Diyorbek, an international student from Uzbekistan majoring in International Economics and Trade (China Business), shared:Export to China was an interesting exhibition. We saw a lot—robots for different jobs, smart devices for homes, and even advanced technology for exploring Mars. It was impressive to see my country Uzbekistan among other countries and exhibitors. Overall, I can say it was a useful and eye-opening event.
The activity helped students better understand China’s market and global trade trends, while promoting cultural exchange and international perspectives. In the future, the International College will continue to organize more visits and practical learning activities to help international students better understand China and gain a deeper knowledge of China’s economy and international business environment.
