Southeast University Officially Releases International Student Cultivation System

On March 27, 2026, Southeast University (SEU) officially launched its groundbreaking international student cultivation framework: “Study at SEU · Smart Education for the Future” — Insight into China AI4SEU. This system represents a new era of international education, integrating cutting-edge technology with traditional culture to help global students better understand, integrate into, and appreciate China.

Digital Empowerment: A Global Online Resource Matrix

At the heart of the AI4SEU system is a robust digital teaching matrix. Leveraging online platforms, SEU has introduced a series of premium Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) including:

  • Traditional Chinese Culture Series: Deep-diving into China’s rich heritage.
  • Jinling (Nanjing) City Culture: Showcasing the unique historical charm of SEU’s home city.
  • Online Mandarin Language MOOCs: Strengthening the linguistic foundation for international learners. Additionally, the university utilizes the “Chinese Bridge” brand and documentary filmmaking to showcase authentic student life in Nanjing, making cloud-based learning more personal and engaging.

Smart Innovation: Immersive Learning with AR & VR

SEU is breaking the boundaries of traditional classrooms by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Simulation, and Augmented Reality (AR).

  • AR City Wall Course: Utilizing AR technology, students can virtually “touch” the ancient Nanjing City Wall, transcending time and space.
  • Dunhuang Immersive Micro-courses: Using light and shadow technology to decode Silk Road civilization, allowing students to experience the brilliance of ancient Chinese art in a high-tech, interactive setting. This shift from passive lecturing to interactive research significantly enhances the learning experience for global students.

Theory into Practice: Deepening Cultural Identity

SEU emphasizes “Learning by Doing,” using the “Second Classroom” as an extension of national conditions education. International students engage in diverse field activities, such as:

  • Exploring the University History Museum and Nanjing’s cultural landmarks.
  • Participating in Rural Vitalization projects to see China’s grassroots development.
  • Visiting High-tech Enterprises to witness China’s innovation firsthand.
  • Joining International Open Days to foster cross-cultural dialogue among youth.

Looking ahead, Southeast University will continue to optimize this AI4SEU framework, aiming to build a world-class brand for international education that is tech-savvy, culturally deep, and practice-oriented.
