Recently, the 5th "Telling Chinese Stories in English" conference, jointly sponsored by the China National Innovation Association, China Education Television and New Channel International Education Group, came to an end in Beijing. Pham Phuong Yuan, a Vietnamese student from the School of International Education of our school, performed well in keynote speeches, impromptu Q&A and talent shows, and was awarded the title of "Communication Star".
With the theme of "Jianghu and Fireworks", Fan Fangyuan related the Chinese martial arts novels he had been exposed to since childhood with real life, lamented the charm of China that blended ancient and modern, and felt that China has made the thousand-year-old rivers and lakes alive in the fireworks of the world, vividly interpreting the inheritance of the traditional spirit in contemporary times. And integrated the perspective of Chinese and Vietnamese culture into the Chinese story, showing the depth and temperature of cross-cultural understanding, and completing a wonderful speech with cultural resonance.
It is reported that the 5th "Telling Chinese Stories in English" attracted nearly 240,000 young people to sign up to participate, and after layers of tests at the local (primary) stage and provincial (advanced) stage, finally 30 international students from China entered the national stage of Chinese and foreign youth performances. Fan Fangyuan won the special prize of the Anhui Provincial International Students Group in the advanced stage selection and successfully entered the national general exhibition.
In recent years, the School of International Education of Anhui Normal University has actively organized international students to participate in various cultural exchange activities, guiding international students to have an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture, tell Chinese stories, spread Chinese voices, and promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and foreign countries. This time, Fan Fangyuan achieved good results in the national exhibition of the "Telling Chinese Stories in English" conference, which not only demonstrated the solid language skills and positive spirit of our international students, but also demonstrated the remarkable results of our school in focusing on cultivating students' cross-cultural communication skills in studying in China.

The predecessor of the school was the Provincial Anhui University founded in Anqing City in 1928, renamed National Anhui University in 1946, and moved to Wuhu in December 1949. Later, he went through several stages of running schools such as Anhui Normal University, Hefei Normal University, Anhui University, and Anhui Workers' and Peasants' University. In 1972, the school was officially named Anhui Normal University. In 1981, it became the first batch of master's degree authorization units in China, and in 2003, it became a doctoral degree authorization unit. In 2005, Wuhu Normal College was merged into Anhui Normal University. In August 2019, it was rated as "National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Typical Experience University".
