Yangzhou University accepted the on-site review of the higher education quality recertification of international students in China

From October 27th to 28th, the China Education International Exchange Association conducted an on-site review of the higher education quality certification recertification of Yangzhou University for international students coming to China. Feng Junying, former education counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand and full-time examiner of the China Education International Exchange Association, led a group of certification experts to the school to carry out on-site inspection work. Ding Jianning, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, Liu Qiaoquan, Principal, Cai Yingwei, Vice President, and Li Qinjing, a fourth-level researcher of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Office of the Provincial Department of Education, attended the relevant activities.

The expert group was led by Hong Yunzhi, former vice chairman of the Education Management Branch of the Chinese Society of Higher Education, and included Chen Jun, Dean of the School of International Education of Southern Medical University, Sun Desheng, Dean of Rutgers University Newark College of Northeast Normal University, Li Yicheng, Director of the Admissions Office of the School of International Education of Anhui University, and Xia Yunyang of the China Education International Exchange Association. At the briefing session of the certification team, Ding Jianning briefly introduced the school's history, remarkable achievements, and the development context and achievements since the launch of study abroad education in China. He pointed out that the university has always regarded studying abroad in China as an important starting point for serving the country's opening up strategy and improving the internationalization of schooling. The school will fully cooperate with the work of the expert group to promote construction, reform and management with evaluation, and continue to polish the brand of "studying abroad and promoting education".

Liu Qiaoquan said that by implementing the five major projects of "improving the quality of global enrollment, upgrading curriculum teachers, cultivating innovation ability, empowering smart governance, and deepening international cooperation", the school will strive to build "studying abroad and promoting the university" into an important base for the country's study abroad education in China, a demonstration window for the opening up of education in Jiangsu Province, and a global benchmark for international talent training in the field of agriculture and hydrology by 2030. Feng Junying expressed her appreciation for the university's great importance to recertification and hoped that the school would take this recertification as an opportunity to further improve the quality and service level of education and training in China.

At the meeting, the responsible comrades of the expert group introduced the specific arrangements for the on-site review. At the preliminary feedback meeting on the on-site review opinions, Feng Junying affirmed the responsibility and solid results shown by the school in the work of studying in China. On behalf of the certification expert group, Hong Yunzhi gave feedback on the preliminary opinions of the on-site review, fully affirmed the overall performance of our school's study abroad education work in China, and put forward suggestions for the school's study abroad education work in China. He pointed out that it is necessary to optimize the student structure and increase the enrollment and training of students with high-level academic qualifications, especially doctoral students. Improve the convergence management system, strengthen the service management capabilities of the whole chain based on the principle of "homogeneity and equivalence, integration and common progress", and promote the convergence of Chinese and foreign student education management standards. Integrate multi-campus school-running resources, optimize the functional layout of campuses and cross-departmental coordination mechanisms, improve the efficiency of the overall utilization of international school-running software and hardware facilities, improve the quality assurance system, further refine the standards and processes of teaching quality monitoring, student scientific research output and other links, and continue to enhance the brand influence of "studying abroad and promoting the University".

Ding Jianning made a statement on behalf of the school. He said that the school will focus on the optimization of the system and mechanism, combined with the formulation of the "15th Five-Year Plan" career development plan, and deeply integrate the education of studying abroad in China into the overall development of the school in the future, and create the "Bohui Yarong" study abroad brand. Focus on deepening the construction of connotation, implement the special action of "studying abroad to promote the university", innovate the enrollment model, optimize the training program, strengthen the construction of teachers, and promote the integration of education and teaching evaluation with international standards. Focus on strengthening service guarantees, build a full-cycle and refined service system, promote convergent management, improve three-dimensional work security, create a good environment for international students to "learn in Yangda and enjoy Yangda", strive to cultivate more international talents who know China, Youhua and love China, and contribute to the internationalization of national education.

Li Qinjing said that he hopes that the school will conscientiously implement the recommendations of the expert group, continue to make efforts in connotation construction and characteristic development, and help the high-quality development of the "Study in Jiangsu" brand. The expert group conducted in-depth interviews with the leaders and heads of functional departments and departments, representatives of centralized management departments, teachers and students, etc., focusing on the top-level design, resources and guarantee, teaching and training, management and service, quality control and effectiveness of the school's study abroad in China.

Yangzhou University

Yangzhou University, formerly known as Tongzhou Normal School and Tonghai Agricultural School, was founded in 1902 by Mr. Zhang Jian, a famous industrialist and educator in modern China. Officially established in 1992, it was formed by the merger of six universities, including Yangzhou Normal University, Jiangsu Agricultural College, Yangzhou Institute of Technology, Yangzhou Medical College, Jiangsu Water Conservancy Engineering College, and Jiangsu Commercial College.

In 2015, it became a university jointly established by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Education. In 2023, it will become a university jointly established by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In September 2021, it was identified as a high-level university construction peak plan university in Jiangsu.
