On the evening of October 24, the first meeting of the first council of the International Student Alumni Association of Xi'an Jiaotong University was successfully held through the online platform. Xu Jiahui, Director of the Alumni Relations Development Department of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Wen Guangrui, Dean of the School of International Education, attended the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by Ji Ting, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, and representatives of international students and alumni from more than ten countries such as Pakistan, South Korea, and Cape Verde attended the meeting online.
Minister Xu Jiahui of the Alumni Relations Development Department delivered a speech at the meeting. He first expressed warm congratulations on the convening of the meeting, reviewed the fruitful achievements of the university in more than 60 years of study in China, and emphasized the importance of establishing the International Student Alumni Association. Xu Jiahui pointed out that the establishment of the International Student Alumni Association is a concrete practice of Xi'an Jiaotong University actively serving the country's high-level opening up and deeply integrating into the construction of the "Belt and Road", an important measure to improve the school's international education level and global influence, and a key platform for deepening emotional ties and cooperation exchanges between international alumni and their alma mater, alumni and China. He hoped that the alumni association could build a good service platform and strengthen the liaison mechanism in the future; gather alumni strength to promote win-win cooperation; Inherit the spirit of Jiaotong University and create a better future.
Ji Ting, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, reported to the conference on the preparations for the International Student Alumni Association. She introduced that during the preparation period of more than a year, the School of International Education, with the support of the majority of alumni, has actively promoted the construction of the alumni work system: built an alumni information collection platform and set up an alumni exchange group, which can reach more than 1,000 alumni; At the same time, the college regularly organizes online and offline alumni activities, has successfully held two international student alumni homecoming forums, launched 10 series of alumni stories of "Moving Forward with Chinese Wisdom", and organized a number of activities such as corporate visits, campus recruitment and school-enterprise cooperation, which has effectively promoted the positive interaction between alumni and their alma mater.
The meeting deliberated and voted on the list of members of the first council, elected the leadership body of the first council, and deliberated and approved the "Working Measures of the International Student Alumni Branch of Xi'an Jiaotong University Alumni Association".
Professor Wen Guangrui, the newly elected president of the International Student Alumni Association and dean of the School of International Education, made a concluding speech. He sincerely thanked all parties for their trust and support, and said that being elected president is not only an honor, but also a responsibility. Wen Guangrui pointed out that the establishment of the International Student Alumni Association is not a new organization, but a long-standing emotional bond between alumni and their alma mater into a more solid force. Facing the future, the alumni association will focus on three aspects of work: first, build a global communication platform, do a good job as a "liaison", and enhance the connection between alumni; second, integrate resources inside and outside the school, be a good "servicer", and support the development of alumni careers; The third is to tell the story of Jiaotong University, act as a "communicator", and continuously enhance the international influence of the school. He called on the alumni to work together to build the spiritual home of "Jiaotong University International People", live up to the expectations of their alma mater, and cherish the friendship of classmates.
