On the morning of September 19, the opening ceremony and entrance education of Ocean University of China for 2025 international students was held in the Marine Science and Technology Building of Laoshan Campus, Qingdao City. Nearly 200 international students from all over the world gathered together to officially start their journey of study and growth at Haida University. Vice President Liu Yong attended the opening ceremony.
On behalf of the school, Liu Yong welcomed all the international freshmen and encouraged them to absorb knowledge, expand their horizons, enhance friendship on the beautiful campus of Haida University, and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, exchanges and mutual learning among world civilizations, and people-to-people ties. In his speech, Lin Xiaopei, faculty representative and dean of the School of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, sent a message to freshmen to cherish time, bravely shoulder their missions, and strive to cultivate a sense of international responsibility and excellent leadership while deeply cultivating their profession at Haida University, and contribute wisdom and strength to cope with global challenges.
Tyrone Zeka, a student representative and 2023 master's student in the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering, shared his experience and gains from studying at Haida University. He encouraged everyone to take the initiative to integrate into the diverse environment, bravely face challenges, make full use of school resources, and continue to grow in academic exploration and cultural experience.
After the opening ceremony, the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau of Qingdao Municipal Public Security Bureau, Laoshan Branch of Qingdao Municipal Public Security Bureau, School Security Office, Logistics Support Office, International Education College, etc. coordinated to carry out freshman admission education to help freshmen smoothly pass the admission adaptation period, study with peace of mind, and study abroad safely.
In the afternoon, the School of International Education organized a collective visit to the school history museum, leading the students to deeply experience the glorious history and cultural heritage of the school over the past century, and further enhancing the students' sense of belonging and identity to the school.
