Sichuan University's "Legacy of Classics, Sichuan University" special activity project for international students was successfully launched

On October 24, 2025, the School of Chemical Engineering launched the "Encounter Frost Fall, "Fist" Tai Chi" activity of Sichuan University's "Legacy Classics, Shu Yun Sichuan University" special activity project for international students in the Youth Square of Jiang'an Campus, with the participation of Chinese and foreign students from multiple colleges.      At the beginning of the event, the host introduced the phenological characteristics, folk customs and food culture of the frost solar term to the students, so that everyone had a deep understanding of the Chinese concept of life that conforms to the weather and reveres nature.

With the sound of long traditional Chinese music, the event entered the "boxing" Tai Chi session. Under the leadership of Teacher Luo Lijun, Chinese and foreign students lined up and began their first experience of Tai Chi. Teacher Luo Lijun first explained the philosophical core of Tai Chi of "overcoming rigidity with softness and braking with static", emphasizing that it is not only a sport to strengthen the body, but also a way to cultivate the mind and understand the idea of "the unity of nature and man". From the momentum, the mane of the wild horse to the white crane's wings, the coach made one move at a time and patiently broke it down. The international students were engrossed, imitating with their hearts, and experiencing the harmony and balance contained in the movements. Although the beginners and the movements are still jerky, everyone is intoxicated by the unique rhythm of Tai Chi.

The atmosphere at the event was warm and interaction was frequent. Chinese students took the initiative to act as "temporary teaching assistants" to help international students correct their movements and explain the cultural stories behind the moves. International students also shared their country's understanding of similar methods of mind-body practice. In the Youth Square, students of different skin colors and languages are connected by Tai Chi and resonate with culture.

At the end of the event, the students said that they personally appreciated the charm of traditional culture and relaxed their bodies and minds. This activity not only allows teachers and students to feel the charm of traditional culture, but also injects a warm cultural atmosphere into campus life, and writes a vivid footnote for inheriting and promoting the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
