On October 26, the theme activity of "Sensing the Power of Intelligent Manufacturing, Building Youth Dreams Together" jointly organized by the School of International Education of Southwest University of Finance and Economics, the School of Delaware Data Science and Leeds College of Southwest Jiaotong University was successfully held. Xiao Hongchao, Vice Dean of the School of International Education of Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Wang Binyu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of the Delaware School of Data Science, Liu Yaoqian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Leeds College of Southwest Jiaotong University, teachers from relevant colleges and 30 Chinese and foreign students from different professional backgrounds gathered together to go deep into FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu Branch and Thunderbird UAV Technology Company to experience the intelligent wave of modern industry and the vigorous vitality of Made in China.
At the first stop of the event, teachers and students walked into FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu Branch. In the busy and orderly welding workshop and final assembly workshop, highly automated production lines, precise and collaborative industrial robots, and rigorous and efficient flow operations constitute a vivid picture of modern "intelligent manufacturing". Chinese and foreign students witnessed how the parts were finally assembled into brand new cars through precise processes, and they were all amazed by the high efficiency and high quality brought by intelligent production. Advanced production technology and strict quality control system make the abstract concepts of "Made in China 2025" and "New Quality Productivity" concrete and tangible, profoundly demonstrating the solid pace of transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry.
Subsequently, teachers and students visited Thunderbird UAV Technology Company, which is full of innovation and vitality. In the company's exhibition hall, a variety of UAV products with diverse uses and advanced technology have attracted everyone's attention. From precision agriculture to power inspection, from aerial surveying and mapping to emergency rescue, the wide application of drone technology and the strong R&D capabilities behind it have made students feel firsthand how scientific and technological innovation drives industrial development and empowers all fields of society.
This cross-school and cross-college joint activity has successfully built a platform to connect theoretical learning with industrial practice and promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. Through field visits and in-depth exchanges, students from different cultural backgrounds experienced the hard core strength and innovative charm of "Made in China", witnessed the vivid practice of China's industrial digital transformation from a global perspective, injected a multicultural perspective into scientific and technological exchanges, and interpreted the profound connotation of "building youth dreams together" with practical actions, highlighting the positive power of Chinese and foreign youth in promoting technology sharing and promoting the integration of industry and education in the new era.
