The golden autumn is cool, and the osmanthus is fragrant. Recently, the second International Cultural Festival of Chinese and foreign teachers and students in Henan Province was held at North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower. This year's International Cultural Festival brought together more than 2,100 Chinese and foreign teachers and students from 73 universities in Henan Province. Ma Zhe, Dean of the School of International Education of Zhengzhou University, the head of the Language and Culture Education Office, the counselor of the Student Affairs Office, and more than 70 Chinese and foreign teachers and students from Georgia, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Vietnam participated in this cultural feast on behalf of Zhengzhou University.
The opening ceremony of this international cultural festival was held in the square in front of the library of Longzihu Campus of North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower on the morning of October 18. Teacher Mao Xue of our college spoke as a representative of international Chinese teachers. In the warm-up performance stage, international students and Chinese students of our college joined hands to perform the Henan folk song "Weaving Flower Basket", and the students showed the unique charm of Central Plains culture with sincere performances.
Students from Sri Lanka brought a unique traditional dance, and their beautiful dance posture won bursts of applause from the audience. Subsequently, all the performers took the stage to sing "We Are the World", and students of different skin colors used their singing voices to convey the beautiful vision of "one family in the world". At the end of the warm-up performance, the band composed of Chinese and foreign students from our school sang the classic song "Friends" affectionately, and the moving melody triggered a chorus of the audience, officially kicking off this international cultural festival.
During the morning style and culture exhibition and international food exhibition, Chinese and foreign teachers and students surged and laughed endlessly. The booths set up by our institute in Georgia, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Vietnam were crowded with visitors. The wine culture experience of the Georgian booth is unique, the African drum performance of the Zimbabwe booth is exciting, the local cuisine of the Bangladesh booth is stopping, and the specialty food of the Vietnamese booth is favored. The four booths vividly showcased the cultural charm of their respective countries through handmade products, ethnic costumes, local food and drinks.
The afternoon cultural program performance pushed this international cultural festival to a climax. The traditional dance rhythm brought by Bangladeshi students in our college is unique, and the national dance performed by African students is enthusiastic and unrestrained...... Chinese and foreign students from different countries showed their cultural characteristics on this stage, and at the same time enhanced mutual understanding and friendship with each other.
The successful holding of this International Cultural Festival has built a platform for Chinese and foreign teachers and students in colleges and universities in our province to showcase multiculturalism, on the one hand, it has promoted communication and exchanges between Chinese and foreign teachers and students in our school and other universities, and on the other hand, it has also demonstrated the fruitful results of our school's education opening up in the new era. In the next step, our college will further polish the brand of "studying in Zhengzhou University", adhere to the equal emphasis on scale and quality, actively promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign students, continuously enhance the international influence of our school, and contribute to the construction of "double first-class" of our school.
