
In order to help international freshmen adapt to campus life as soon as possible, enhance their sense of belonging and collective cohesion to the college, and help them better integrate into the campus, on September 29, the School of Public Administration held a meeting for the class of 2025 international students on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Members of the college team, teacher representatives and more than 20 international students participated in the event.
In her speech, Liu Fang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, reviewed the outstanding achievements of the College in discipline construction and international exchanges and cooperation, demonstrating its strength and international influence. She encouraged international students to deeply experience the vivid practice of China's development, integrate academic ideals into the trend of Sino-foreign exchanges, and actively serve as a bridge and messenger for mutual learning among civilizations. Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, she sent a message to the students with "Thousands of Miles Together" to convey warmth and care.
Xiong Ranran, Director of the International Student Office of the School of International Education, extended a warm welcome to the new students, introduced the high-quality educational resources and rich campus activities of Huaxue University, and encouraged everyone to cherish learning opportunities, actively integrate into the campus, and achieve growth and development.
In the meeting session between teachers and students, teacher representatives spoke in turn, showing professionalism and educational feelings; International students introduced themselves one by one and shared their original intentions and development plans. Face-to-face communication not only enhances mutual understanding between teachers and students, but also creates a harmonious and friendly atmosphere, laying a good foundation for future studies and growth.
International student counselor Luo Antong presided over the meeting and explained the origin and customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival to international students. She explained from the perspectives of cultural significance, emotional bond and value inheritance, conveying the spiritual connotation of "full moon and full people, isomorphism of family and country", so that international students can feel the humanistic temperature and philosophical wisdom of Chinese culture in the atmosphere of "reunion, harmony and gratitude".
In the free exchange and Q&A session, international students actively asked questions on topics such as internship and employment, study and life, and the teacher representatives answered patiently and meticulously. At the same time, the teacher representatives also encouraged everyone to focus on their studies, improve their literacy, actively participate in campus activities and social practice, and show their talents and style on the broad stage of Huaxue University of Science and Technology.
This freshman meeting enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the faculty team and service management of the college, and promoted them to quickly adapt to campus life and integrate into the collective.
