On September 28, 2025, 34 international students from Thailand, Iran, Japan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Russia, and Cameroon from the School of Liberal Arts of Yunnan University participated in the "2025 19th Honghe Jianshui Confucius Cultural Festival Township Shooting Ceremony and Traditional Confucian Culture Experience Activity", touching the pulse of traditional Chinese culture in the thousand-year-old city. On the morning of the 28th, under the guidance of Mr. Ma Feng, Mr. Wei Fan, and Mr. Ma Junyi, the students reported to the Chaoyang Building on time to gather and watch the Chaoyang Building Square Township Shooting Ceremony. By restoring the "village shooting ceremony" of the Zhou Dynasty, the event vividly demonstrated the profound heritage of traditional Chinese ritual and music civilization, which integrates shooting competitions, etiquette norms, and moral cultivation. Subsequently, the students paraded along Lin'an Road and arrived at the Taihe Yuanqi Fang of the Confucian Temple in an orderly manner to start the traditional Confucian cultural experience commemorating the 2576th anniversary of Confucius's birth.
The staff of the Confucian Temple guided the students to the ceremonial gate for washing and baptism, and then everyone moved to the platform of Zhusi Yuanyuanfang to sort out their clothes and correct their demeanor. In the solemn traditional music, bow and offer flowers to the sage Confucius, pay tribute to the most holy teacher with thousand-year-old rites and music, and feel the unique charm of Confucian etiquette with a respectful heart. Under the leadership of the leading teacher, the students also visited three cultural landmarks: Zhujia Garden, the Academic Administration Examination Shed, and the Lin'an Prefecture Office. From the exquisite ancient buildings of Zhujia Garden, to the cultural relics of the imperial examination in the Xuezheng examination shed, to the historical imprint of Lin'an Mansion, each place allows students to more intuitively appreciate the historical thickness of Jianshui as a thousand-year-old ancient city.
