Hello everyone! I am SUWARA SRIJANJAROEN, an international student from Thailand, and my Chinese name is Jiang Ping. Currently, I am a sophomore undergraduate majoring in archaeology at the School of Cultural Heritage of Northwest University.
Choose to study in China
Xi'an, a city with a history of more than 3,100 years, was once the ancient capital of the Thirteen Dynasties, carrying a rich cultural heritage and historical accumulation. In high school, I became interested in Chinese culture, history, and language, and started learning Chinese. During high school, I had the honor of participating in cultural exchange activities held by Northwestern University. During the activity, the enthusiasm shown by the teachers deeply touched me and further ignited my strong interest and yearning for Chinese culture. With a desire to explore the unknown, I resolutely decided to embark on a journey to study in China and experience the unique charm of Chinese culture firsthand.
Feel the charm of culture When I was in Thailand, I didn't like walking very much, but after coming to China, walking through the streets and alleys and observing the daily life of Chinese people gradually became one of my biggest hobbies. For me, walking is not only a simple physical activity, but also a way to experience and explore Chinese culture.
In the more than a year I have lived in Xi'an, I have found that there are many things in this city that surprise and move me. For example, at five or six o'clock in the afternoon every day, there are always uncles and aunts in parks or public places gathered together, singing and dancing, full of energy. They often wear uniform costumes and dance to rhythmic music. Once, out of curiosity, I came forward to ask with my friends, only to find out that they were dancing a folk dance. Later, I also tried some simple movements and found it to be a lot of fun.
Every time I go to the southwest corner of the city wall, I stop and watch them dance quietly. What makes me feel is that these uncles and aunts are not here for money, but because they like it. It is this heartfelt love that drives them to participate in this activity every day. I realized that doing what I love can not only bring happiness, but also make people persevere.
Campus life
Campus life also made me feel fulfilled and unforgettable. On summer nights, the open space in front of the complex is always lively, and students are chatting or having fun. In such an environment, I deeply feel the beauty and uniqueness of campus life. In addition, as a member of the Cultural and Sports Department of the International Student Federation, I participated in many campus activities. These experiences not only taught me to organize activities and solve problems, but also allowed me to meet many like-minded friends in teamwork. Although I am busy with work, getting along with the minister, deputy minister and other members is a precious memory of my university life. These experiences have not only improved my abilities, but also accumulated valuable experience for future development.
Learning and broadening your horizons
In terms of academic pursuits, I am deeply aware that I need to put in more effort to continuously improve my academic ability and comprehensive literacy. To this end, I plan to enrich my knowledge base by reading a large number of professional literature and related books. At the same time, I will make full use of the rich resources of the library to optimize learning methods in order to improve learning efficiency. I will carefully set specific learning goals and plans, and reasonably arrange study and rest time to ensure that I can focus on my studies and get enough rest, so as to achieve a combination of work and rest. Looking forward to the future of study and life, I am full of longing, hoping to travel to more cities and experience different cultural atmospheres and lifestyles firsthand. Through my travels and active participation in community activities around the world, I firmly believe that I can broaden my horizons and enhance my understanding and tolerance of diverse cultures. These experiences will not only greatly enrich my life experience, but also pave a diverse and broad path for my career development.
