At the opening ceremony, Director Yuan Long of the Office of Foreign Cooperation and Exchange welcomed young students from all over the world, hoping that they would cherish the opportunity to study in China, improve their Chinese proficiency, understand China and culture up close, and become a bridge and link between China and foreign exchanges. Subsequently, Director Yu Yuanlong presented the "Scholarly China" school supplies representing traditional Chinese culture to the international students, encouraging them to exchange and learn more from Chinese students, participate in healthy and uplifting campus cultural activities, so as to better integrate into the campus life of Fuzhou University.

Professor Lin Sheng of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and Associate Professor Zhu Ningyi of the School of Economics and Management were invited to give special lectures on "China and the World" and "This is Fujian" for the freshmen, encouraging them to learn Chinese well and become international talents of "Zhihua and Youhua".

During the exchange period in Shangxiahang, the freshmen personally experienced the production of jasmine tea, learned about the development history of Fuzhou jasmine tea and the business exchanges between Fuzhou and overseas, felt the traditional Hanfu culture, and completed the first social practice of "understanding China".

"My major in Germany is East Asian economics, and I need to take a foreign language in Japanese, Korean and Chinese, and go to the corresponding country for a year. Many students chose to go to Japan and South Korea, but I chose Chinese, I have been to Fuzhou, and I feel very cordial, so I chose Fuzhou between Shanghai, Suzhou, and Fuzhou."

Through the entrance education week, the freshmen also received legal and safety education in China. Under the guidance of the teachers of the Office of Foreign Cooperation and Exchange, the freshmen carefully read the "International Student Handbook" and dormitory management regulations, learned the laws and regulations on the entry and exit of foreigners, and improved their safety awareness of traffic and fire protection, so as to prepare for future study and life.
