Study in China, Build Dreams for the World!

The Academic Forum on "Sensing China and Entering China's Electronics Development" was held at Chengdu University of Electronic Science and Technology

On September 25, the "Sensing China and Entering China's Electronics Development: The Frontier Academic Forum on Electronic Information Disciplines for International Students in China" was held at Qingshuihe Campus. Representatives of international students from 20 universities participated in the forum and gave academic reports and poster displays, and more than 100 graduate students participated in academic exchanges. The forum was co-sponsored by the School of International Education and the School of Electronics, and was approved by the China Scholarship Council to "Perceive China" social practice and cultural experience activities for Chinese government scholarship students.

He Qilei, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the organizers, expressing her warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the experts, scholars and representatives of international students from various universities. She said that this forum is committed to building a high-level exchange platform between Chinese and foreign teachers and students, helping international students in China grasp the frontiers of the field, cultivating their international vision and cross-cultural communication skills, and sowing seeds for Sino-foreign scientific and technological innovation cooperation. It is hoped that international students will take this opportunity to gather wisdom, seek common development, stimulate the spark of innovation in the collision of ideas, and bear fruitful results in close cooperation.

Duan Zhaoyun, vice dean of the School of Electronics, introduced the development of the college and said that the college has a complete scientific research platform and faculty system, and is committed to cultivating outstanding talents with innovation and practical capabilities. In recent years, international students from more than ten countries and regions have studied for master's and doctoral degrees at the college, and international education has developed steadily. It is hoped that the forum will be held better and better, and promote international academic exchanges in the field of electronic information disciplines and improve the quality of training for international students in China.

In the expert report session, Professor Zhang Jingzhi gave a report entitled "Discovery of Millimeter-wave Radar Applications", introducing the application of millimeter-wave radar in positioning and imaging. Professor Chen Shangzhi reported on "Reconfigurable Photonics Driven by Mixed Ion-Electron Conductors", introducing metasurfaces and tunable cavities. Professor Huang Sunchao's lecture entitled "Tunable Free Electron X-rays in Van der Waals Structures" introduced X-ray sources based on van der Waals structures and imaging-related content. The three professors had in-depth exchanges with students on the theme of sharing.

On the afternoon of the 25th, the two sub-forums were held simultaneously. International students from many universities shared their research progress and achievements on electromagnetic information, terahertz applications, antenna design, RF chips, nanomaterials, artificial intelligence, etc. AFZAL USAMA from Tianjin University introduced the next generation of sensors enabled by carbon nanomaterials; NASRUD DIN of Southeast University presented a high-efficiency large-area quantum dot near-infrared luminescence device for advanced non-invasive biological imaging, and HIRWA SAKINDI ALAIN of our university demonstrated a high-gain dual-band conformal fractal antenna for WCE applications.

The forum also set up a poster display session. International students from different universities and our students displayed their research results through posters, and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on scientific research methods, experimental progress, and application prospects.

The participating international students gave positive comments on the event. Zin Nandar Win of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications said the conference was "very meaningful and provided a valuable platform for communication"; Haider Muhammad Saleh Urf KUmail of Chongqing University believes that the forum "brought a lot of new information and new perspectives, and it was a wonderful experience"; Muhammad Ahmad of our school believes that "this is a good opportunity for students from different schools to meet and share ideas".

On the 26th, the delegates visited the Chengdu Robot Innovation Center, experienced the development of Chengdu in intelligent equipment research and development, core technology research and industrial ecological construction, and understood China's effectiveness in the combination of industry, university and research and achievement transformation, and enhanced their intuitive understanding of the development status and prospects of China's electronic information industry.

This forum has built a high-level academic exchange platform for international students in China, effectively promoted cross-cultural cooperation and discipline innovation, and further enhanced the international influence of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in the field of electronic information.
