To effectively enhance the fire safety awareness and fire prevention capabilities of all teachers and students in the college, and improve students' self-rescue, mutual rescue, and emergency evacuation abilities, on December 4, the School of International Education carried out fire safety drills in the dormitory buildings of the North Campus and South Campus respectively.
Before the drill, the college formulated a thorough implementation plan and established a drill leading group and several special working groups. Teachers and student volunteers were arranged on each floor as evacuation guides, responsible for organization, guidance, and order maintenance. The college also set up a medical rescue team, on standby at all times to respond to possible accidental injuries. With the instruction "Fire safety drill begins" issued, the simulated fire was activated, smoke filled the area, and the alarm sounded. Property service staff quickly opened the fire exits. Under the command and guidance of the evacuation guides, teachers and students evacuated to the safe area quickly and orderly according to the predetermined escape routes. After the evacuation and assembly, the drill entered the safety education session.
In the first-floor halls of the North and South Campus dormitories, the college displayed various illegal electrical appliances collected during daily dormitory checks, such as electric irons, hair dryers, curling irons, electric blankets, and electric pots. Teachers from the Dormitory and Classroom Management Office explained in detail the usage risks and fire hazards of these items in combination with the actual objects, warning students to strictly abide by the dormitory safety management regulations. Through the combination of "actual combat" drills and physical object education, this fire safety drill enabled teachers and students to master fire escape skills proficiently and deeply recognize the importance of fire safety.
The School of International Education will continue to deepen fire safety education, regularly carry out emergency drills and major dormitory safety inspections, continuously consolidate the foundation of campus safety, and make every effort to safeguard the lives and property of teachers and students as well as the harmony and stability of the campus.
