On the evening of November 26, 2025, the 2025 Shaanxi International Students' Art Gala was grandly held at the auditorium of the North Campus of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology. Lim Yun Liang, Consul General of Malaysia in Xi'an, Chhorn Bora, Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Xi'an, and Fu Zhiying, Acting Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Xi'an, attended the event, along with representatives from the Secretariat of the China-Central Asia Mechanism and the Consulate-General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Xi'an.
Wang Haibo, Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee; Huang Yong, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shaanxi Province; Wang Gang, Second-level Inspector of Xi'an Municipal Education Bureau; Gao Xinbo, President of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology; and Zhang Jincheng, Vice President of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, as well as representatives from multiple units including the Publicity Department of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Public Security, Xi'an Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of Xi'an Municipal Public Security Bureau, participated in the event.
More than 1,200 international students from 39 universities participated. With the theme of "Singing Together Across Continents, Shaanxi Shining Worldwide", the gala showcases the inclusive and open spirit of Chinese culture and highlights the fruitful achievements in international talent cultivation. The evening kicked off with a passionate drum dance performed by international students, and was divided into two chapters: "Diverse Continents · Source of Civilizations" and "Eastern Charm · Harmonious World".
The first chapter showcases the cultures of the international students' home countries. Through programs such as ethnic dances, traditional songs, and fashion shows of characteristic costumes, it highlights the splendid picture of cultural exchanges. The second chapter tells the real-life experiences of international students studying and living in Shaanxi. Through forms such as Chinese dance dramas, TCM skits, and robot shadow plays, it demonstrates the style of international students studying and living in Shaanxi and their love for Chinese excellent traditional culture. Among them, the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) innovation program "Light and Shadow Adventure" created by the university ingeniously integrates traditional shadow puppetry with modern drama performances, endowing ICH with new vitality through artificial intelligence technology, which reflects the university's innovative practices in artificial intelligence and international education.
The performance site was filled with a warm atmosphere, with applause and laughter rising one after another. The gala concluded successfully with all the performers singing the beautiful melody of "You and Me". This event was hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, co-organized by the Foreign Student Education Management Branch of Shaanxi Higher Education Society and Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, and co-sponsored by several universities in Shaanxi. Teachers and students who attended the performance said that the entire show vividly interpreted the exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations, and fully demonstrated the sincere feelings of young people from various countries towards Chinese culture and the land of Sanqin; they will transform the wisdom and feelings gained in Shaanxi into the power to move forward, and contribute their youth and wisdom to promoting mutual understanding and friendship among people of all countries and advancing the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
