1. Enrollment categories and policies

(1) Full-time undergraduate students (international students) refer to undergraduates who meet the "Administrative Measures for the Recruitment and Training of International Students", are admitted to the school through the admission method recognized by the state, and study full-time within the basic study period or the number of years specified by the school.

(2) When full-time undergraduates (international students) graduate, the school will issue a corresponding graduation certificate indicating the learning method in accordance with relevant national regulations. If the academic level reaches the degree standards stipulated by the state, the corresponding degree certificate will be awarded.

2. Proposed enrollment majors and teaching languages

For details of the information and teaching language of the proposed enrollment majors, please refer to the "Catalogue of Southwest University of Finance and Economics 2026 Enrollment Majors".

3. Application conditions

(1) Non-Chinese citizens who comply with the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China, meet the relevant provisions of the Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Work of Accepting International Students in Our Colleges and Universities (Jiao Wai Han [2020] No. 12) and other laws and regulations, hold a valid foreign passport, be physically and mentally healthy, and have excellent grades;

(2) Comply with Chinese laws and regulations and school discipline and school rules;

(3) Academic level must meet one of the following conditions:

  1. Fresh high school graduates with nationally recognized academic qualifications must obtain a state-recognized high school graduation certificate before entering the school in the year of admission, otherwise their admission qualifications will be invalid.
  2. Have a high school diploma recognized by the state.
  3. Those who have obtained an undergraduate degree.

(5) Language requirements

  1. Chinese teaching major

(1) Pass the Chinese examination of the "Academic Proficiency Test for Undergraduate Admission to Study in China";

(2) Students applying for undergraduate majors in "Chinese Language and Literature" can choose to provide HSK certificates, with a minimum requirement of passing HSK level 4 and a total score of 180 points or above.

  1. English-taught major

(1) Applicants who are native English speakers or provide proof of study in English-taught majors for two years or more may not provide English proof of grades;

(2) Applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 80 or Duolingo score of 105 or EF level B2 or above; or pass the exam organized by the School of International Education of Southwest University of Finance and Economics.

4. Application process/channel

(1) Participate in the "Academic Proficiency Test for Undergraduate Admission to Study in China"

1. Exam registration

International students applying for an undergraduate degree at Southwest University of Finance and Economics must take and pass the "China Scholastic Competency Assessment" (hereinafter referred to as the "CSCA Test"). For more information on CSCA and how to apply, please visit the official website (www.csca.cn).

2. Precautions

(1) Students applying for Chinese-taught programs must choose the Chinese language test papers of the CSCA test subjects, not the English language test papers; Students applying for English-taught programs must choose the CSCA test subject English language paper.

(2) To apply for Chinese-taught programs, you must apply for two subjects: "Chinese" and "Mathematics"; Students applying for English-taught programs only need to apply for one subject, "Mathematics".

(3) Professional Chinese tests are divided into two types of tests: "Liberal Chinese in Liberal Arts" and "Chinese in Science". For specific test subjects, please refer to the "Southwest University of Finance and Economics 2026 International Undergraduate Enrollment Major Catalogue".

(4) Students applying for the undergraduate major of "Chinese Language and Literature" in the School of Humanities and Arts can be exempted from the "Liberal Arts Chinese" subject if they submit a score of 180 or above in HSK Level 4.

Important: CSCA test scores are an important reference for our school to review the academic ability of applicants, so please be sure to prepare carefully. To ensure a smooth application process, it is recommended to take the CSCA test as early as possible and submit your results in a timely manner to allow sufficient time for subsequent review. Before the CSCA exam is held, applicants can only submit the information on the successful registration page when applying.

(2) Online registration

  1. Application time

November 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026 (Beijing time).

  1. Log in to the "Southwest University of Finance and Economics International Student Online Service System" to submit the application (website: http://swufe.17gz.org);
  2. Applicants should accurately fill in their personal online registration information and provide real materials as required. Those who fail to register as required, fill in the wrong information online, or fill in false information and fail to take the exam or be admitted, the consequences shall be borne by the applicant himself.

(3) Application fee

  1. The application fee is RMB 600. For online payment methods, please follow the prompts of the "Southwest University of Finance and Economics International Student Online Service System" for online payment.
  2. Applications without payment of the application fee will not be accepted.
  3. The application fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether you are admitted or not.

5. Application materials

(1) Upload materials

Applicants are required to upload the following documents by the deadline:

  1. Crownless ID photo within half a year
  2. High school diploma or pre-graduation certificate

If the applicant is a current student, he or she must submit a pre-graduation certificate issued by the school he or she attends, stating that the applicant will receive a graduation certificate before August 25, 2026.

  1. Complete transcript of high school
  2. A scanned copy of the "Undergraduate Admission Academic Proficiency Test for Studying in China" (CSCA test) transcript
  3. Other required proof of language proficiency (see "Application Requirements" for specific requirements)
  4. If you have entered Chinese mainland, you need to provide a scanned copy of the visa or residence permit page
  5. Scanned copy of the first page of the passport (ordinary passport valid after March 1, 2027)

For applicants who were originally Chinese citizens and later became foreign nationals, or applicants who hold foreign passports but one or both parents are Chinese citizens, they are also required to provide proof of the applicant's naturalization time, proof of renunciation of Chinese nationality or birth certificate, and scanned copies of visa records for entering and leaving China in the past four years.

8. "Physical Examination Record for Foreigners" (click to download the template)

The form must be completed by the doctor in Chinese or English. Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the "Physical Examination Record for Foreigners". If there is a missing item, the photo of the person is not affixed or the photo is not stamped, and there is no signature and seal of the doctor and the hospital, etc., it will be deemed invalid. This inspection record is valid for 6 months.

  1. "Certificate of No Criminal Record" (click to download the template)

Applicants must submit a valid certificate of no criminal record issued by the local public security organ, usually within 6 months before the date of submission of the application. If the applicant is really unable to provide it, he or she should sign and upload the "Letter of Commitment to No Criminal Record".

10. Proof of financial guarantee (click to download the template)

The economic guarantor must be a natural person with full civil capacity, over 18 years of age and a stable source of income; The financial guarantor must fill in the "Economic Guarantee Certificate" truthfully and provide a scanned copy of the first page of the economic guarantor's passport or the original ID card.

If the applicant is under the age of 18 on September 1, 2026, he or she must submit a notarized certificate of guardianship.

12. Certificate of school performance

If the applicant has studied in a school in Chinese mainland, he or she must provide documents issued by the school official to prove that the applicant has performed well during his or her studies and has no record of violating rules and disciplines.

If the applicant is really unable to provide it, he or she should sign and upload the "Commitment to No Violations of Discipline and Discipline in School" (click to download the template).

13. Other documents that can prove learning ability and comprehensive quality, such as award certificates, published papers, etc.

(2) Precautions

  1. All application materials must be written in Chinese or English. If the original application materials are written in other languages, a notarized translation in Chinese or English must be provided, otherwise it will be deemed invalid.
  2. If necessary, our school will require applicants to submit supplementary application materials.

6. Admission

(1) Admission process: Preliminary review by the admissions office→ submission of CSCA test scores→ online interview (additional test on demand), →academic review by the college admissions committee→ final review → admission by the international student admissions leading group.

(2) The application information confirmed by the applicant will not be modified at the admission stage, and those who do not meet the application qualifications will not be admitted. Applicants who fail or complete the academic qualification (student status) review will not be admitted.

(3) After admission, Southwest University of Finance and Economics will be responsible for providing documents such as the "Admission Notice" and visa application form (JW202).

(4) Freshmen should report on time. Those who cannot register for admission on time for any reason should complete the leave procedures in writing to the School of International Education of Southwest University of Finance and Economics in advance according to regulations. Fresh graduates must obtain a nationally recognized graduation certificate before admission in the year of admission, otherwise the admission qualification will be invalid.

7. Expenses

Southwestern University of Finance and Economics

Located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, it is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Sichuan Province, and is a national "double first-class", "211 project" and "985 project advantageous discipline innovation platform" university.

The history of Southwest University of Finance and Economics can be traced back to Guanghua University, which was established in Shanghai in 1925, and later established a branch in Chengdu in 1938. After the adjustment of faculties in 1952-1953, the school absorbed the finance and economics departments of 17 colleges and universities in southwest China to form Sichuan University of Finance and Economics. After many changes, it was restored to its original name in 1978, transferred to the People's Bank of China in 1979, and finally renamed Southwest University of Finance and Economics in 1985, and under the management of the Ministry of Education after 2000. In 1997, Southwest University of Finance and Economics became a key construction university of the national "211 Project", a national "985 Project" advantageous discipline innovation platform construction university in 2011, and a national "double first-class" construction university in 2017. Southwest University of Finance and Economics is the first batch of "high-level international talent training innovation practice bases" and the first batch of "quality certification for studying in China" pilot institutions in Sichuan. The "African Research Center" and "Bay of Bengal National Research Center" were approved by the Ministry of Education as national and regional research centers.
