To comprehensively enhance international students' safety awareness and emergency response capabilities, and strengthen their understanding and compliance with China's laws, regulations, and campus rules, the International College held a special training session on laws, regulations, and safety education for international students at the Lecture Hall on the first floor of Ziyun Building at 16:00 on November 7, 2025. The session was hosted by Teacher Yang Lingxiao, Acting Director of the Student Affairs Office.
1. Legal and Regulatory Education
In the legal and regulatory education section, Teacher Wang Zhanming systematically introduced the core legal and regulatory framework closely related to international students' daily study and life, helping them build an overall understanding of China's legal system and campus rules. On this basis, he focused on religion-related laws and regulations, combined with specific cases, and gave detailed explanations from multiple aspects such as religious laws, restrictions on activity venues, carrying of religious items, prohibited religious activities, and religious dress codes. He reminded international students to enhance their self-protection awareness, accurately identify illegal religious activities, and strictly conduct legal religious activities in accordance with China's laws and regulations.
2. Safety Education
Teacher Jing Keli focused on safety education, covering five aspects: 1) Property safety: By analyzing typical cases such as "robbing Peter to pay Paul," he vividly revealed the dangers of online and offline fraud, and clearly stated that the school will not collect large sums of money from students under any name; 2) Personal safety: He taught students to bravely refuse sexual harassment and be good at using legal weapons to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests; 3) Fire safety: He emphasized that illegal electricity use must be strictly prohibited in daily accommodation, and the use of non-compliant electrical appliances is forbidden. In case of emergencies such as fires, students must remain calm, correctly use fire extinguishers and fire hydrants, and immediately call 119. He also added safety guidelines for electric vehicles, prohibiting dangerous behaviors such as speeding, drunk driving, and indoor charging; 4) Travel safety: He specially warned students to beware of cheap tour groups organized in the name of the school; 5) Online speech norms: By citing examples of rumor-mongers being dealt with in accordance with the law, he clearly pointed out that cyberspace is not a lawless area.
3. Prohibited Behaviors and Their Consequences
Starting from the actual daily study and life of students, Teacher Qiu Miao analyzed the seriousness of behaviors such as violating laws, regulations, and school rules one by one. He clearly pointed out that such behaviors will lead to punishments such as demerit recording, probation, or even expulsion from school, and may even be subject to legal sanctions. He hoped that all international students would strictly regulate their own behaviors.
4. Summary and Test
Finally, Teacher Yang Lingxiao summarized the content of this training and organized international students to complete an on-site knowledge test to strengthen the learning effect. Participating students said that although they had received relevant education before, the teachers used vivid cases in this training, allowing everyone to have a deeper understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and safety knowledge. The school will continue to strengthen legal, regulatory, and safety education to safeguard the lives and property of all teachers and students.
