Recently, an expert group for the Quality Certification of Higher Education for International Students in China, led by Wang Shenggang—former Deputy Secretary-General of the China Scholarship Council and former Education Counsellor (at the Principal Level) of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt—conducted an on-site review of Inner Mongolia University.
Cheng Tao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, met with Wang Shenggang and his delegation. Vice President Dahu Baiyila and leaders of relevant functional departments and colleges for international student education attended the certification work meeting. At the briefing on the on-site certification review, Wang Shenggang emphasized the important significance of international student education in China in serving the country's opening-up of education and promoting the brand building of "Study in China", and fully affirmed the preliminary preparation work of our university for the international student education certification.
Dahu Baiyila stated that the entire university attaches great importance to this on-site review for the Quality Certification of Higher Education for International Students in China, fully supporting and actively cooperating with the expert group's work. Taking this certification as an opportunity, the university will continue to build a high-quality education system for international students in China. Ren Ligang, Dean of the School of International Education, reported on Inner Mongolia University's work on international student education in China and the brand building of "Study at Inner Mongolia University". The expert group visited the university's Mental Health Education and Counseling Center, student canteens, Taoli Innovation Space, library, Key Laboratory of Multilingual Artificial Intelligence Technology, and the School of International Education. They also reviewed relevant archival materials on international student enrollment, teaching, and management, comprehensively understanding the system construction and implementation of the university's international student education in China.
The certification experts conducted interviews with the university's responsible leaders, functional departments, education colleges, international student management cadres, course instructors, and international student representatives respectively. They also visited classrooms to conduct on-site inspections, comprehensively understanding the university's education management and training of international students in China. At the on-site review feedback meeting, the expert group fully affirmed the achievements of our university in the management of international student education in China and put forward suggestions for improvement. The university sincerely accepted the expert group's opinions and suggestions, and will further improve the long-term mechanism for international student education management, promoting the quality and efficiency of the university's international student education in China with higher standards and more practical measures.
Since launching the Quality Certification of Higher Education for International Students in China in 2023, Inner Mongolia University has promoted the construction of five systems for the education management of international students in China through two years of systematic development, building a new pattern of international student education in China that balances scale and quality, and promoting the connotative development and quality improvement of international student education. This certification is not only a comprehensive review of the brand building of "Study at Inner Mongolia University" but also an important opportunity to enhance the university's internationalization level. Taking the quality certification as a new starting point, the university will actively implement the action of building a strong education country, and contribute its strength to serving the construction of the "Belt and Road" and cultivating more international talents who know China and are friendly to China.

Also known as Inner Mongolia University (abbreviated as Inner Mongolia University), it is located in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a full-time regular higher education institution sponsored by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a key supported university in the "One Province, One University" initiative for the central and western regions, and a national "Double First-Class" construction university.
Founded in 1957, Inner Mongolia University is a comprehensive university. In 1960, the Inner Mongolia Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences co-located with Inner Mongolia University and was eventually merged into it. It began enrolling graduate students in 1962; was designated as a national key university in 1978; became a "211 Project" construction university in 1997; became a "province-ministerial co-constructed" university of the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Education in 2004; was selected as a university in the "National Plan for Enhancing the Comprehensive Strength of Universities in the Central and Western Regions" in 2012; and became a "ministry-province cooperative co-constructed university" of the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 2018. In 2022, it was selected as a university in the second round of national "Double First-Class" construction.
