On November 6, the 2025 Ocean University of China International Cultural Festival was held on Laoshan Campus. More than 1,000 Chinese and foreign teachers and students from more than 60 countries and regions around the world gathered together to attend a blue feast that highlights the characteristics of Haida and connects world civilizations in the deeply integrated cultural experience and youth interaction. Vice President Liu Yong participated in the cultural festival with Chinese and foreign teachers and students. This cultural festival consists of four major sections: "Dream Set Sail Prologue", "Global Style Booth", "International Art Show" and "Blue Dream Interaction". The event is indexed with a unique "Blue Dream Ferry Ticket" to guide teachers and students to explore in turn, forming an immersive narrative line from "setting sail" to "realizing dreams".
In the "Global Style" booth area, students from all over the world not only prepared a wealth of national specialties, but also enthusiastically displayed their unique national costumes, traditional musical instruments and handicrafts, attracting a large number of teachers and students to stop and exchange experiences. In the high-level cultural and artistic performances jointly presented by Chinese and foreign students, unique national dances and melodious songs and singing appeared in turn, fully demonstrating the charm of multiculturalism. The whole event reached a climax in the joint performance of "Blind Date and Love" by Chinese and foreign students.
The "Blue Dream" interactive area is the most distinctive and warm section of this international cultural festival. Chinese and foreign students wrote their wishes and blessings for the ocean, the world, and the future on the blue wish card, threw themselves into the "Sea of Dreams", and made "blue fruit" souvenirs symbolizing wisdom and hope. Teachers and students participating in the event held "ferry tickets" stamped with the seals of various countries to exchange souvenirs and checked in in front of the theme photo frame. In recent years, the school has adhered to the focus on student development and continuously innovated the international practice of "three comprehensive education". Through the carefully constructed cultural scene, this international cultural festival has effectively improved the effectiveness of educating people in national conditions, geographical conditions and school conditions, guided the majority of Chinese and foreign students to strengthen their cultural self-confidence in embracing the world, and told Chinese stories well in exchanges and mutual learning, injecting surging youthful momentum into cultivating more international talents who know China and are friendly to China and are worthy of great responsibilities.

Located in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, it is a comprehensive national key university directly under the Ministry of Education with complete disciplines and remarkable characteristics of marine and aquatic disciplines. Founded in 1924, the school developed into Shandong Ocean University in 1959 after the private Qingdao University, National Qingdao University, National Shandong University, Shandong University and other schools, and was identified by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1960 as one of the 13 key comprehensive universities in the country, renamed Qingdao Ocean University in 1988, and renamed Ocean University of China in 2002. In 2017, it was selected as a national "world-class university construction university" (Class A).
