The School of Life Sciences at Guizhou University held the 2025 International Summer School, themed "Biodiversity Conservation and Utilization Driven by Biological Big Data". It attracted more than 20 international students from countries including Thailand and Laos. The program covers course teaching, scientific research practice, and cultural study tours, building an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural learning and exchange platform for Chinese and foreign youth.
To deepen international students' understanding of China's agricultural product processing and agricultural modernization, the university organized the participants of the International Summer School to visit Guizhou Meizhixuan Food Co., Ltd. for an on-site study tour themed around the chili industry, allowing them to deeply experience the technological strength and cultural charm behind "Chinese flavors".
Teachers and students observed production links such as chili stir-frying, grinding, subpackaging, and packaging up close, and gained a detailed understanding of the complete process from raw material processing to finished product warehousing. The enterprise's technical personnel focused on introducing quality safety monitoring, sample retention systems, and standardized management systems, emphasizing the core role of product traceability in food safety assurance.
The e-commerce live streaming and online sales models displayed by the enterprise aroused widespread interest. Students actively asked questions and showed strong interest in the integration of digital agriculture and cross-border e-commerce.
At the chili and cherry tomato planting base, international students learned about crop cultivation and ecological agriculture management on-site, experienced the complete industrial chain from "field to table", and deepened their understanding of China's local industrial structure.
This industrial visit is an important part of the diverse teaching content of Guizhou University's International Summer School, focusing on the integrated development of local characteristic agriculture and modern food processing industry, and promoting cross-cultural understanding and professional exchanges among international youth. Through the composite curriculum design of "academics + practice", the program not only enhances students' international vision and professional literacy, but also demonstrates the vigorous vitality of collaborative cooperation among education, technology, and industry under the background of the Belt and Road Initiative.
