
On September 27, the 8th International Cultural Festival of Harbin Engineering University was grandly held, where international students from more than 60 countries and regions around the world and Chinese students gathered together to perform a cultural festival of multi-civilization integration in singing, dancing and fragrant food.
Yu Zhiwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of the school, said in his speech that the International Cultural Festival, as an important brand activity of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, has become an important window to show diverse civilizations and unite youth friendship. This deep friendship forged during my studies will also be continued and sublimated in our upcoming International Student Alumni Association.
At the opening ceremony, the Harbin Engineering University International Student Alumni Association was officially established. Liu Zhijun, deputy director of the Harbin Engineering Development Liaison Department, read out the approval document for the establishment of the Harbin Engineering University International Student Alumni Association. Yu Zhiwen presented the flag to Brigadier General Ashan, the first president of the International Student Alumni Association. The awarding of the flag marks a new step in the construction of the university's global alumni network, opening up a broader space for strengthening ties with overseas alumni and expanding cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries. Dou Zheng, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, presented a letter of appointment to the representatives of the first International Student Alumni Association.
Brigadier General Ashan, President of the International Student Alumni Association and 2000th master's student of our university, delivered a speech on behalf of all international alumni. The establishment of the International Student Alumni Association has built bridges and bonds between international students and between international students and their alma mater, opening a new chapter of hand in hand and mutual empowerment.
After the opening ceremony, the cultural festival entered its climax. On the stage, the tropical style of Southeast Asian songs and dances came to the face; European dance conveys the charm of blending classical and modern; Drum beats and dance steps of students from African countries are intertwined; International students from domestic sister colleges presented different styles of programs. Students from five continents held hands and connected hearts, using friendship as a bridge and culture as the belt, jointly writing a beautiful chapter of harmonious coexistence across national borders.

The Harbin Project, referred to as the Harbin Project, was built in 1953 and is located in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, People's Republic of China. The school originated from the Chinese People's Liberation Army Military Engineering College (Kazakh Military Industry) founded in 1953; In 1970, Harbin Naval Engineering College was established at the original site of the Kazakh Military Industry with the Department of Naval Engineering as the main body; In 1981, it became the first batch of units with doctoral and master's degree granting rights; In 1994, it was renamed Harbin Engineering University.
