On the afternoon of June 26, the inauguration ceremony of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology International Student Alumni Association and the symposium of the 2025 outstanding graduates studying in China were held at the International Student Activity Center. Zhang Tao, deputy secretary of the school party committee, attended the event. He reported on the foundation of the construction of the International Student Alumni Association of our school, the communication mechanism of international student alumni, the brand activities of international students, and the career development of international students and alumni. Dai Zejian, Director of the Alumni Work and External Liaison Office and Director of the Education Development Fund Management Office, read out the approval of the establishment of the International Student Alumni Association.
Deputy Secretary Zhang Tao presented the flag to the International Student Alumni Association. Zhou Liping, Dean of the School of International Education and President of the International Student Alumni Association, said that in the future, the School of International Education will plan the work of international students and alumni from a higher position and a broader vision, give full play to the important pivotal role of the International Student Alumni Association, help alumni achieve greater achievements, and support the construction of the school's "double first-class". Representatives of outstanding graduates studying in China at the school level made speeches. SOUMYA SINGH (Chinese name: Su Ming), an undergraduate graduate of the First Clinical College, expressed her gratitude to her teachers, relatives and friends for helping her on her journey to study medicine. TERIAEVA ELIZAVETA, a master's graduate of the School of Economics, talked about her learning and participating in activities at Huaxue University of Science and Technology. MUHAMMAD NASEEM ABID, a doctoral graduate of the Academy of Educational Sciences, has published papers in top international journals, demonstrating the solid research ability and international academic vision of international students.
Zhang Tao congratulated the international students on completing their studies. He said that the establishment of the International Student Alumni Association marks that the international alumni work of our school has entered a new stage, and he expects the International Student Alumni Association to adhere to the concept of serving alumni, alma mater and society under the guidance of the school's alumni association, promote cooperation and exchanges between alumni and alma mater, and promote the formation of a good situation of emotional integration, career co-creation and common destiny between alumni and school. Zhang Tao, Dai Zejian and Zhou Liping presented honorary certificates to outstanding graduate representatives and presented books.
Huazhong University of Science and Technology attaches great importance to international student training and alumni work. Since the first batch of Vietnamese students was recruited in the 60s of the last century, it has cultivated more than 15,000 international talents for more than 160 countries and regions around the world. In 2022, the first International Student Alumni Conference was successfully held, and the first batch of "International Student Alumni Ambassadors" were selected. This year, our school officially established the International Student Alumni Association, and four international student graduates of the class of 2025 were appointed as directors of the class of 2025.
