
On September 17, 2025, the symposium of international student representatives of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held in Conference Room B306 of the Student Center of Minhang Campus. This symposium aims to build a bridge of communication between the school and international students, and further improve the international campus environment and service quality.
Ma Wei, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and Director of the International Student Development Center, Zhao Feng, Director of the Graduate School Internationalization Office, Ge Yang, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, and representatives of teachers from relevant units attended the meeting and had cordial exchanges with 21 international student representatives from 17 countries, and had a warm and constructive dialogue on academic development, life experience and cultural integration.
The meeting was presided over by Zhou Xiyan of the International Student Service Center of the Academic Orientation Committee. The international students spoke enthusiastically and shared their rich experiences and growth gains during their studies at Jiaotong University. SYLVIANA BURHAN from Indonesia shared her experience as the head of the college's international student institution, saying that the valuable platform provided by Jiaotong University not only exercised her cross-cultural leadership, but also allowed her to gain all-round personal growth, ANNY KONG (School of Design, Graduate School) from Brazil said that during her studies at Jiaotong University, she completed a number of high-quality self-media video works, which received widespread attention on platforms at home and abroad, and she looked forward to the school participating in international communication for international students. Tell Chinese stories well and provide more platforms and support. NOAH KENNETH SWAINLAND (Faculty of Humanities, Graduate 2) from the United Kingdom talked about his deep interest in Chinese culture, believing that the school's Chinese culture courses for international students helped him understand Chinese culture systematically, and he also looked forward to learning more in-depth knowledge of Chinese culture. MARGARET EMILY WHISTON (Graduate 2, Aetna School of Economics and Management, Graduate School) from the United States shared her experiences and feelings in campus life, study internships, and club participation, as well as the resource support provided by the school and the careful guidance of teachers, allowing her to continue to break through in her academic exploration and personal growth.
They said that Shanghai Jiao Tong University has always adhered to the student-oriented development concept, always supported the growth of international students with an open and inclusive attitude, and will continue to expand the communication mechanism in the future, continue to optimize the bilingual service level, accelerate the construction of practical platforms, and strive to create a warmer atmosphere for all international students , convenient and inclusive campus environment, to promote Chinese and foreign teachers and students to grow and progress together in exchanges and mutual learning.
