
From September 19th to 21st, the 3rd International Exchange Competition for Traditional Sports was held in Jiangyin. The competition was led by Ji Jingjing, deputy director of the Department of Physical Education, Wu Xuemeng, teacher of the School of Overseas Education, and Chu Chu, a counselor, to form the international student team of Southeast University led by 8 international students from Yemen, Myanmar, Russia, Algeria and Cambodia.
After fierce competition, the international student team of Southeast University won the third prize in the fitness qigong and eight-duanjin collective competition, and Ferqi and Reza from Yemen and Liu Tingxin and Yue Yuanxi from Myanmar won the third prize in the men's individual competition of fitness qigong and eight-duanjin competition. Renata and Sophia from Russia and Emma and Hanani from Algeria won the third prize in the women's individual competition of Fitness Qigong Baduanjin, showing the youthful demeanor of our international students on the international stage.
With the theme of "Civilization Integration, Sports Meeting, and Friendship Together", nearly 800 athletes from 39 countries and regions met friends and felt the unique charm of traditional Chinese sports in five sports: martial arts, fitness qigong, Go, dragon and lion dance, and kite.
The achievements of Sports international students are not only the result of the daily hard training of the leading teachers and contestants, but also fully demonstrate the training ability and outstanding results of our school's international student education. In the future, our school will continue to integrate the excellent traditional Chinese culture into the whole process of international student training based on traditional Chinese sports and Chinese philosophy of life and health wisdom, innovate rich and effective communication channels for cross-cultural exchanges, further deepen international students' understanding and love for Chinese culture, and make greater contributions to the dissemination of Chinese culture, the promotion of mutual learning among civilizations, and the deepening of international friendship.
