03 Applicant qualifications
Health conditions
Physical and mental health (free of infectious diseases and no physical or mental illness that interferes with normal learning).
Age requirements
As of September 1, 2026, undergraduate program applicants must be under the age of 23, master's program applicants must be under the age of 30, and doctoral program applicants must be under the age of 35.
Educational requirements
As of September 1, 2026, applicants for undergraduate programs must obtain a high school diploma, master's degree applicants must obtain a bachelor's degree, and doctoral applicants must obtain a master's degree.
Learning ability
The undergraduate program requires applicants to have an average score of 75% or above in the previous stage and submit CSCA test scores for undergraduate admission to study in China. Master's and doctoral programs require applicants to have an average score of 75% or above in the previous stage. The school accepts internationally accepted standardized test scores such as SAT/A-Level/IB. Applicants can provide proof of other academic ability or academic performance.
Language requirements
Applicants should have a language proficiency in Chinese/English that meets the admission criteria.
Nationality requirements
Applicants must be non-citizens of the People's Republic of China holding a valid passport. Foreign Chinese applicants to study in China must obtain foreign nationality and cancel their Chinese nationality before April 30, 2022, and have a record of actual residence abroad for more than 2 years from April 30, 2022 to April 30, 2026 (actual residence abroad for 9 months in a year can be calculated as one year, subject to entry and exit signatures).
If both or one of the applicant's parents are Chinese citizens, they must provide the following supporting materials (choose one of the two):
(1) Proof that the applicant acquired foreign nationality at birth;
(2) If the applicant is a Chinese citizen and then becomes a foreign national, the certificate of cancellation of the original Chinese household registration and the certificate of renunciation of Chinese nationality shall be provided.
04 Application Date
The first batch of undergraduate programs: November 1, 2025 to January 15, 2026
Second batch: January 16, 2026 to March 15, 2026
The third batch: March 16, 2026 to April 15, 2026
The fourth batch: April 20, 2026 to May 20, 2026
Admission is only accepted in the fall of September each year
Master's and doctoral programs
First batch: from November 1, 2025 to January 15, 2026, before 17:00 Beijing time (applications submitted after 17:00 Beijing time on January 15, 2026 will be automatically regarded as the second batch)
Second batch: from January 16, 2026 to February 28, 2026, before 17:00 Beijing time (applications submitted after 17:00 Beijing time on February 28, 2026 will be automatically regarded as the third batch)
Third batch: from March 1, 2026 to March 31, 2026, before 17:00 Beijing time (applications submitted after 17:00 Beijing time on March 31, 2026 will be automatically regarded as the fourth batch)
Fourth batch: April 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026, before 17:00 Beijing time (applications submitted after 17:00 Beijing time on April 30, 2026 will be deemed to be automatically abandoned)
Note: The application system is open normally during the winter vacation, due to the limited enrollment of Northwestern Polytechnical University, it is recommended that applicants submit their applications as soon as possible, and the sooner they apply, the higher the chance of admission and scholarships.
Northwestern Polytechnical University

Northwestern Polytechnical University can be traced back to the National Northwestern Institute of Technology in 1938; In 1946, the National Northwest Institute of Technology moved to Xianyang.
