Study in China Chongqing University visited Tongji University to investigate internationalization work

On the afternoon of October 31, Chen Ying, deputy director of the International Student Management Service Center of Chongqing University, Gao Xiang, deputy director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, and Zhang Xin, a staff member of the Scholar Affairs Section, visited the university for research. Chen Yili, Director of the International Student Office of our school, Shen Jiajun, Deputy Director, Zhang Chuan, Deputy Chief of the Expert Section of the Foreign Affairs Office, and Yan Weiwei, a staff member of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, attended the exchange. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on issues such as international assessment, foreign experts, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students, and international student education. At the meeting, Chen Yili systematically introduced the latest layout and planning of the school's international cooperation with the main line of "deeply cultivating Germany, strengthening Europe, and connecting the world", Zhang Chuan introduced the basic situation of foreign experts in our school and the development goals of the "15th Five-Year Plan", and then shared the current situation of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan cooperation, enrollment and student activities. Shen Jiajun introduced the basic situation and development plan of international students at Tongji University. During the exchange session, the two sides discussed hot topics such as the "15th Five-Year Plan" international assessment index system, the allocation of foreign research performance, the risk prevention and control of Sino-foreign cooperative education, the convergence management of international students, and the national education of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students. The research team of Chongqing University spoke highly of the effectiveness of Tongji University's internationalization work and hoped to learn from relevant experience to promote major internationalization work to a new level. After the meeting, the two sides agreed to establish a normalized communication mechanism, jointly declare relevant projects in artificial intelligence, sustainable development, civil engineering and transportation and other advantageous fields, share overseas enrollment channels, jointly promote exchanges between young students on both sides of the strait, and contribute to accelerating the construction of a new pattern of higher education opening up to the outside world.
