Founded in 1951 as Tianjin Medical College, the university is the first institution of higher medical education established after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, with Professor Zhu Xianyi, a renowned endocrinologist and medical educator, serving as its first president. At the beginning of its establishment, the university brought together a large number of medical experts represented by Zhao Yicheng, Jin Xianzhai and others. Upholding the original aspiration of “cultivating talents for the Party and the country”, it has been committed to training much-needed medical professionals for the nation, and has gradually developed into one of the important medical and medical education centers in North China. In June 1994, Tianjin Medical College and Tianjin Second Medical College formally merged to establish Tianjin Medical University. In 1996, the university became the only municipal university in Tianjin selected for the national “211 Project” key construction program, as well as the only local medical university under the “211 Project” among independently established medical colleges and universities nationwide. In 2015, it became a university co‑built by Tianjin Municipality, the National Health Commission and the Ministry of Education. In 2017 and 2022, it was successively selected into the national “Double First-Class” construction initiative for two consecutive rounds.
01 Eligibility
1.Non-Chinese citizens;2. Applicants must have a high school diploma or above, with excellent academic performance, and be no older than 25 years old;3. Applicants shall be of good conduct, physically and mentally healthy, and willing to abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of Tianjin Medical University;4. Language requirements: For applicants applying for English-taught programs, their English proficiency must reach IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 or higher (applicants from English-speaking countries recognized by the university may be exempted); for applicants applying for Chinese-taught programs, HSK Level 5 or above is required;5. Foreign applicants of Chinese descent must have obtained foreign nationality for at least 5 years, renounced Chinese nationality, and possess visa records and overseas study experience for the recent 5 years;6. Applicants must take the Undergraduate Entrance Academic Proficiency Test for International Students in China (abbreviated as CSCA) and achieve scores meeting the university’s admission standards.• For Chinese-taught programs: Transcripts of specialized Chinese (science Chinese) and mathematics, as well as transcripts of physics or chemistry are required.• For English-taught programs: Transcripts of mathematics and either physics or chemistry are required.Application deadlineJuly 30th every year

Note: All the above fees must be paid in RMB, and the textbook fee is only required for undergraduate students.
