
1. Application Requirements
- The applicant should be a non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport, with good conduct, physical and mental health, abiding by China's laws, regulations, and school rules, respecting the customs and habits of the Chinese people, and meeting relevant regulations such as the Ministry of Education's Document No. 12 of 2020 (Jiaowaihan [2020] No. 12).
- The applicant must be between 18 and 30 years old, with a high school diploma or above, good academic performance, and a serious learning attitude [qualifications refer to the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED 2011)].
- The applicant must meet other requirements of the applied major (including written and oral examinations).
2. Application Process
Applicants must log in to the "Yunnan University International Students Service Platform" to register an account, fill in the application information online as required, and submit the application materials.
3. Application Materials
01 Scanned copy of passport personal information page*
- The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application submission.
- If there is a Chinese visa or residence permit in China, please upload it along with the passport.
02 Personal ID photo*
- The ID photo must be named with the passport number.
- Color 2-inch bare-headed ID photo with white background and no border.
03 Transcript of the Undergraduate Academic Proficiency Test for International Students (CSCA)*
- For specific subject requirements, please refer to the 2026 Undergraduate Major Catalog (Major List of Bachelor’s Degree Programs.pdf)
04 Foreigner's Physical Examination Form.pdf*
- The physical examination date must be within 6 months from the date of application submission.
- The applicant must undergo examinations strictly according to the items listed in the form. Forms that are incomplete, do not have the applicant's photo pasted, do not have a cross-seal on the photo, or lack the signature and seal of the doctor and hospital are invalid.
05 Original highest education diploma and degree certificate*
- If the applicant is a current graduating student, they may submit a pre-graduation certificate issued by their current school, and present the original diploma and degree certificate upon enrollment and submit the scanned copies.
- If the certificate is not in Chinese or English, a notarized Chinese or English translation must be submitted.
06 Original academic transcript*
- The applicant must submit a complete high school transcript. If there is a description of the grade evaluation criteria, please upload it along with the transcript.
- If the transcript is not in Chinese or English, a notarized Chinese or English translation must be submitted.
07 Language Proficiency Certificate*
- Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit an HSK Level 4 certificate with a score of 180 or above (valid within 2 years).
- Applicants for English-taught programs must meet at least one of the following conditions: IELTS (Academic) ≥6.5 / TOEFL ≥90 / Duolingo ≥110 / other valid certificates of equivalent English proficiency recognized by our university / from a country where English is the working language.
08 Study Plan*
- More than 1000 words (in Chinese or English).
09 No Criminal Record Certificate*
- Applicants must submit a no-criminal-record certificate issued by the local public security authority.
- The certificate must be dated within 6 months of the application submission date.
10 Financial Guarantee Certificate*
- Applicants may submit a bank balance certificate issued within the past 6 months.
- Applicants may download and fill out the "International Student Financial Guarantee Form.pdf". The information filled in must be true and accurate, signed by the financial guarantor in handwriting, and accompanied by the financial guarantor's ID document and bank balance certificate.
11 Portfolio
- Applicants for music programs must meet the corresponding piano academic level requirements and submit a CD of their own works. Applicants for fine arts programs must submit 6 color photos of their own works (2 sketches, 2 color paintings, 2 other works).
- Some programs will require applicants to submit supplementary materials; specific details will be notified separately after registration.

Note:
- During the application stage, only electronic application materials need to be uploaded to the application system. Do not mail paper application materials or send them via email; otherwise, they will not be reviewed.
- All materials uploaded by applicants must be clear, true, and valid. It is recommended to scan relevant documents using professional equipment. The applicant shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unrecognizable uploaded materials.
- If the application materials are not in Chinese or English, a notarized Chinese or English translation must be provided simultaneously.
- Our university will contact applicants according to actual needs. Applicants must ensure that all information is accurate, and contact methods such as email and phone remain accessible. They should check messages in the application system regularly; otherwise, the applicant shall bear the consequences.

V. Review and Admission
- Yunnan University will organize experts to review applicants' application materials. Depending on the situation, written tests, interviews, or other forms of assessment will be conducted to select proposed admitted candidates. Those who meet the requirements will be admitted on a merit basis.
- Yunnan University will send admission materials to admitted students by August.
- Admitted students shall not change their major or study duration in principle after enrollment.
VI. Registration for Enrollment
- The time, location, and requirements for enrollment registration shall be subject to the admission notice.
- Original copies of all application materials must be presented as required during enrollment registration; otherwise, the admission qualification will be canceled.
- If you cannot register on time due to special reasons, you must submit a written application via email at least 15 working days before the registration deadline. Delayed registration is allowed only after approval. Those who fail to register on time without approval will have their admission qualification canceled.
VII. Fee Standards
1. Tuition Fees
Note:
- On the basis of the above fee standards, the tuition fee for fully English-taught programs will be increased by 5,000 yuan per person per academic year.

2. Accommodation Fees
On-campus accommodation arrangements are determined based on the capacity of the university's apartments and students' wishes. Usually, it is a quadruple room, and the cost varies according to accommodation conditions. International students living on campus must pay utilities as required; the specific charging method and standards shall be subject to the notice of the Student Apartment Center.
3. Comprehensive Medical Insurance Premium
800 yuan per person per academic year. International students coming to China must purchase the "Comprehensive Medical Insurance for Foreigners in China" in accordance with relevant national regulations and school requirements. Those who fail to purchase insurance as required shall be required to do so within a time limit; those who fail to do so within the time limit will have their admission qualification revoked by the school.
Note: New students can apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship, the University Alliance of South and Southeast Asia Inter-School Exchange Ambassador Scholarship, the Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship, or the Yunnan University International Student Scholarship. The scholarships cover part or all of tuition fees, accommodation fees, living expenses, insurance premiums, etc. The scholarship selection methods shall be implemented in accordance with relevant national and school regulations. Yunnan University (Yunnan University)
Nicknamed Yunda (YNU), it is located in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, under the administration of the Yunnan Provincial Government. Yunnan University was founded in 1922 as the private Donglu University. In 1930, it was renamed the provincial Donglu University; in 1934, it was renamed the provincial Yunnan University; in 1938, it became the National Yunnan University; and in 1950, it was officially named Yunnan University.
